Department 92 - The Stroke Unit is an acute care department with a catchment area in central Sweden for acute stroke and neurosurgery.
The Neuro Center is a broad operation consisting of outpatient clinics in neurology, neurosurgery, neurophysiology, and rehabilitation medicine, as well as two inpatient wards. We work on the development of care pathways for our patient groups in close collaboration between different professions and across specialty boundaries, both internally in the clinic and externally in the region. Education and research are conducted in collaboration with Örebro University.
Örebro University Hospital (USÖ) is one of the three acute hospitals in the county where we provide advanced healthcare, research, and education. Both in 2020 and 2019, USÖ received the prestigious award for Best University Hospital from the newspaper Dagens Medicin. USÖ won the most significant category for medical quality, had the best results in the categories of accessibility, economy, and avoiding pressure ulcers and overcrowding. USÖ also tops the results in the areas of heart, kidney failure, and vascular surgery. USÖ has approximately 550 beds and 3,500 employees. Assistant Nurse at Neuro Department 92 - Stroke Unit Neuro Center, USÖ
Job ResponsibilitiesHere, you will work as an assistant nurse in interdisciplinary teams consisting of assistant nurses, nurses, doctors, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech therapists, social workers, and dietitians.
Working as an assistant nurse with us gives you a breadth of care experience, and you will have the opportunity to work at the top of your competence, including specific neurological monitoring, medical technology equipment, respiratory care, tube feeding management, and nutritional care, general and specific nursing, and neurorehabilitation. Here, you will meet both older and younger patients. In your role as an assistant nurse, you will be involved in the Stroke Alarm Chain Save the Brain, where we receive patients directly from the ambulance. You will also assist in emergency treatments such as thrombolysis and thrombectomy. We offer you:

QualificationsWe welcome you who are a trained assistant nurse, preferably with a focus on emergency care according to the previous program structure, or are a trained assistant nurse within the current program structure. To assess employability, transcripts from your healthcare education and proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare of your protected professional title must be attached to your application.
We prefer that you have at least 2 years of experience as an assistant nurse, where work in emergency care/inpatient care is an advantage. As a person, you are secure and stable. You are clear, flexible, and good at collaborating. You show care for the patients and their relatives and are a good colleague. We place great importance on personal suitability.
