The Clinic for Medicine and Geriatrics is the largest clinic at Karlskoga Hospital. The clinic includes outpatient care, dialysis and kidney clinics, physiological care, rehabilitation units, and medical care administrators. The inpatient departments focus on the acute management of patients with strokes, heart diseases, and other acute internal medical conditions.

Karlskoga Hospital is one of the three acute hospitals in Region Örebro County. We who work at Karlskoga Hospital are proud of our hospital. At the Dialysis Unit, nurses and nursing assistants work in teams with other professionals such as doctors, dietitians, physiotherapists, and social workers. We treat patients with chronic kidney failure who require hemodialysis.

The Dialysis Unit is an outpatient clinic where we perform hemodialysis for patients with reduced or ceased kidney function. We have a total of 14 dialysis stations. Patients usually come here three times a week, with each treatment taking about four hours. We work within a highly specialized outpatient service where we use technical equipment in our daily work.

The service operates during the day, Monday to Saturday, with evening shifts until 8:00 PM three days a week. We have a preferred schedule. You will receive an individually tailored introduction period of about 10 weeks with two designated mentors to learn how to operate dialysis machines and treatment principles. We work in pairs in our patient groups.

Licensed nurse. Previous experience in dialysis is an advantage. As a person, you are curious, flexible, and willing to develop. You can work both independently and in a team, are positive, and have a good attitude. We place great importance on personal suitability.
