School Nurse at Olaus Petriskolan

About the Position
As a school nurse, you will work at Olaus Petriskolan F-6 and at Olaus Petriskolan's resource school, which is located in the same building. In this role, you will be part of the school's student health team along with a counselor, special educator, and school management. In the student health team, you will contribute with medical and public health expertise in student health work. Furthermore, you will work with health visits/health conversations in the annual cycle that regulates school nurses' medical work. You have great freedom to plan and drive your work based on the students' needs and within the given frameworks for the position. At OP school, we actively work with health-promoting activities such as "important for real" and MUGI, among others, in which you are expected to be active. Here, you will have an interesting and developing job in a stimulating environment with us at OP. You will also be part of a network of school nurses from Örebro municipality, providing collegial support and ongoing professional development.
Examples of Tasks Beyond Health Conversations/Health Visits:
- actively participate in the school's preventive health work, be available for students during the school day as needed, and be a collaborative colleague in the workplace
- be responsible for documentation in Prorenata according to the Health and Medical Services Act and the Patient Act
- provide information and medical advice in dialogue with students and guardians
- be responsible for offering and administering vaccinations according to the national vaccination program and being able to take action in case of vaccination side effects
- be familiar with and follow the applicable laws, policies, and routines of the organization
- initiate and participate in development and quality work within the area of operations
About the Workplace
Olaus Petriskolan is a F-9 school located in two premises; grades F–6 have their operations in premises in the north, and grades 7–9 have their operations in premises in central Örebro. Olaus Petriskolan F-6 has about 360 students distributed across 5 teams, including Olaus Petriskolan's Resource School. The school's prioritized development work for the current academic year is "Health-Promoting School" and "Development of the School's Teaching." The school prioritizes health-promoting work in the form of active breaks, MUGI, collaboration with associations, and "important for real" aimed at grade 5.
Students are also given the opportunity to study extra in-depth in the school's profiles before and after school hours. This academic year, we offer: a football profile under ÖSK, sports and health, and a music profile for the middle school.
Since the 2015/2016 academic year, Olaus Petriskolan has been a Training School, in collaboration with the teacher education program at Örebro University.

Qualifications

You are quality-conscious and come up with your own suggestions on how we can further develop based on your own competence. Since the work involves digital documentation, good computer skills are also required.

Requirements:
- licensed nurse with specialist training as a school nurse, district nurse, or pediatric nurse
- experience working as a school nurse
Meritorious:
- experience working in digital journal systems, e.g., Prorenata Journal
- experience working in student health teams
- experience and/or training in ICDP
- competence in NPF
