Daily activities are an initiative according to the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons (LSS). It targets individuals of working age who lack employment and are not in education. Those entitled to daily activities are adults with intellectual disabilities (ID), autism, or autism-like conditions (NPF) or individuals with significant and permanent cognitive disabilities following brain injury in adulthood.

Our daily activities are divided into two different operational areas, habilitative and work-oriented.

The habilitative activities include individuals with severe disabilities. We work with music and rhythm, body awareness, and physiotherapy.

The work-oriented activities include individuals with moderate or mild disabilities. We work largely in external activities such as industry and cafes.

With us, you get the chance to make a difference - every day. We are looking for someone who wants to help create a safe, developed, and joyful environment for individuals with disabilities within daily activities according to LSS.

As a support assistant, you are a key person in our participants' lives. You support them in developing their abilities, participating in activities, and feeling included in society. Participating in activities may involve swimming and contact with animals - therefore, it is important that you are comfortable with this.

The job involves planning activities and training for our target group, as well as leading the target group and following up through documentation. In our habilitative activities, the work is carried out within the framework of aesthetics as well as rehabilitation and habilitation as prescribed. Here, we work with individuals who have severe autism and intellectual disabilities. In our production-oriented activities, we lead with our hands behind our backs, focusing on guidance.

The approach in the profession is based on a low-arousal response where predictability in scheduling and communication is extremely important. You will work closely with other staff, so it is important that you can communicate well and collaborate.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a recognized education as a support assistant/pedagogue, teaching assistant, education in child and leisure programs with a focus on disabilities, or have studied equivalent with a specialization in the disability area that the employer assesses as equivalent.

Additionally, it is an advantage if you have:

  • Experience working with TAKK (Signs as Alternative and Complementary Communication)
  • Experience with clear pedagogical methods
  • Experience in low-arousal work and outwardly aggressive behaviors
  • Good computer skills and documentation experience
  • B driver's license

You have a genuine interest in people and a positive attitude. As a person, you are proactive and work with great integrity and observational skills. You should have good knowledge and experience of multiple disabilities, cognitive disabilities at an early stage, and mobility impairments. Likewise, knowledge and experience of AAC (Alternative and Augmentative Communication) in images, forms, music, movement, and digital media/technology.

To thrive in the role, you need to be calm, stable, and responsive to our participants' needs. You master the Swedish language in both speech and writing, as documentation and reporting are part of the job. You have a good ability to structure, prioritize, and lead the work when necessary.
