The Department for Work and Learning is responsible for, among other things, individual and family care, labor market and employment, as well as adult education and upper secondary school. Our core mission is to offer education and support based on individual needs and circumstances. Through early, promoting, and preventive measures, we conduct targeted work in collaboration with other community actors.

The Department for Individual and Family Care consists of four units: IFO Team 1, IFO Team 2, Housing Support Team, and Support and Treatment Unit. The department is responsible for processing and implementing services in the areas of children (SoL and LVU) and adult substance abuse (SoL and LVM), social psychiatry (SoL), financial assistance, and domestic violence (SoL).

JOB DESCRIPTION

We offer the opportunity to be part of the startup of the work as a school social worker in Alvesta Municipality's school social team.

Alvesta Municipality is establishing local school social teams as part of the work to promote student attendance, goal achievement, and mental health. Successful attendance reduces the risk of exclusion, mental illness, and crime. School social teams are based on a cross-professional approach where you, as a school social worker, will play a key role in coordinating efforts between schools and social services. By working closely with students, guardians, and other actors such as healthcare and leisure activities, the teams create a comprehensive picture of the student's situation and offer early, coordinated support measures. The goal is to create a safe and supportive school environment, prevent absenteeism, and ensure that every student has the conditions to succeed in school. You will be involved in driving the development of the role of school social worker and the work with school social teams in the municipality.

Together with counselors, other school staff, and the principal, you will collaborate and offer early interventions without exercising authority. You will act as a link between social services and schools and provide consultative support to schools and other services surrounding the student and their family. You will work with parental support, both individually and in groups. You will complement student health services and offer support regarding children and adolescents' entire life situation, often working together with the family.

The majority of your working hours will be spent in the primary schools in the municipality, where the work is led by school management. You will be an important player in student health work. For example, you will offer support measures to guardians and facilitate communication and collaboration between guardians and other actors involved with the individual student.

Examples of tasks for a school social worker include participating in parent meetings, attending school staff meetings, participating in student health teams at schools, providing a consultative role regarding local attendance work, and offering advice and support conversations with students, primarily in relation to the family as a whole. You will contribute to mapping the student's social situation, family system, and attendance work to better understand and support the student's needs and development.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and knowledge of applicable legislation. You have experience working within social services, and it is advantageous if you have experience with school social issues, parental support, and treatment work. You have a good understanding of the missions of schools and social services and the relevant legislation.

Experience with the Kronobarn model and active work with the child's plan is advantageous. School social workers will help develop area-based work in the municipality concerning our students.

As a school social worker, you have a good ability to collaborate, can work both independently and in teams. You are structured and can communicate orally and in writing. You are attentive and confident in your professional role with the ability to make assessments and prioritize from a holistic perspective. You see opportunities in the cross-professional work surrounding the student and their guardians. You have experience collaborating between different services and are accustomed to working both independently and in teams. You are skilled at systematically mapping children's needs and have a knack for building good relationships with children and parents in psychosocial change work.

Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, is required.

Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

A manual B driver's license is a requirement.
