Lead Architect at Fortifikationsverket

Fortifikationsverket is seeking a lead architect for the newly established design unit. The mission of Fortifikationsverket is to meet the needs of the Armed Forces and defense-related authorities for suitable and secure properties. This means we build, own, manage, and operate many different types of properties that our tenants use for their activities. The agency's headquarters is located in Eskilstuna, where the position will also be based.

The project department responsible for construction investments currently has about 160 employees and is divided into operational units, a project support unit, a staff unit, and a design unit.

The design unit is under establishment, and we are now seeking various competencies to carry out the design of buildings and facilities in-house.

Your daily life as an architect

As an architect, you will work in a multidisciplinary team alongside project leaders, building engineers, designers, and land and installation engineers, supporting them with your expertise in analysis and design throughout all stages of the projects.

Your background and expertise in architecture should create an understanding of building and facility projects in their entirety. This requires continuous teamwork across disciplinary boundaries and a very structured approach to create proposals that address important aspects of function, technology, and physical security from an early stage.

As an architect, you will work with various software programs to create, design, and visualize the best solutions in the BIM model while ensuring that standards, regulations, and guidelines are followed.

Additional tasks that support the organization and establishment of the operation may also occur, and in your role, you will have many internal and external contacts. Travel within Sweden that can be planned will be included in the position. The position requires 100% on-site work in Eskilstuna.

What do you offer us?

We are looking for someone with a 5-year master's degree in architecture and several years of experience as a design architect in all stages of complex projects, who is technically knowledgeable and experienced in designing with Revit and Adobe programs for visualization.

It is an advantage if you have expertise in Building Descriptions BSAB system, contract law, and in the field of fortifications and/or defense.

Your personal qualities are very important to us, and we will place great emphasis on personal suitability. We are looking for someone with a high level of security awareness. For this role, it is required that you are collaborative and have an unpretentious focus on the common goal. You are structured, organize your work well, and meet deadlines. You are creative, responsive, and accustomed to handling stress constructively.

For the role, very good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form is required, as well as good knowledge of English. A valid driver's license (class B) is a requirement.
