System Engineer in Communication Solutions

Combitech communication consultants have Sweden's largest collective expertise in network technology and work to secure communication and information flows, ensuring they function both in everyday life and in crisis situations. Combitech is now making an investment in this area and is therefore looking for more consultants who want to be challenged and develop together with us in exciting projects, both in the public and private sectors.

Your Role as a System Engineer

There is a growing demand for robust communication solutions among our clients, both military and civilian. Combitech designs and delivers robust communication solutions and assists our clients with studies on the future of communication, e.g., within the defense sector.

With the increased demand comes a greater need to bring in more employees who share our view on development and who want to share their specialist knowledge with clients and colleagues to enhance the value of what we deliver.

In this role, you will primarily work with the Armed Forces or with civilian communication solutions and communication systems. We work both in larger delivery projects and in smaller assignments, always in close collaboration with our clients.

The work is very varied and includes, among other things, the development of robust and secure communication solutions, the creation of technical design solutions, and the verification of designs in test environments. Travel of varying lengths is included in the position - for example, to client facilities or to suppliers.

Who Are You?

We are looking for a person with a civil or university engineering degree, or equivalent competence, and preferably experience in system design and system work with a focus on network technology. We welcome both those with several years of experience and those who are at the beginning of their careers.

To succeed in the role, it is important that you have current and relevant experience in configuring IP-based networks as well as good knowledge of and experience in configuring Cisco's network products. You should be able to independently implement routing and switching and have a good understanding of packet-switched WAN/LAN. Experience working with DNS and security products, such as firewalls, is also important. Additionally, you should have good communication skills and be able to express yourself well in both speech and writing.

It is advantageous if you have Cisco certifications, such as CCNA/CCNP, experience in designing larger networks, and an approved certification within the total defense's signal protection system. Knowledge of segment routing/MPLS and familiarity with handling classified documentation is also beneficial. Previous experience working with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration and/or the Armed Forces, as well as knowledge of Linux/Unix, are additional merits.

As a person, you are driven, have the ability to inspire those around you, and a desire to develop within your area of expertise. You are a social person who can meet different types of people, and you are meticulous, independent, and engaged.

You are used to working in a team and understand the importance of being a good project member. The work requires a significant degree of personal responsibility, and we see that you are not averse to working practically both on-site and in a lab environment when required. The development of specifications, maintenance documents, and verification of deliveries is also part of the consultant's role.

As the position involves work that is subject to defense secrecy, you must undergo and be approved in a security review with a background check.
