We are now strengthening the university's support for larger research and innovation initiatives and are announcing a position focused on structuring the work with strategically important research applications. The work will primarily focus on excellence applications within the EU's framework program for research and innovation, particularly within pillar 1, but also includes support for other types of excellence initiatives, such as those initiated through the research policy propositions.

Job responsibilities

The responsibilities of the research support group are based on supporting research applications within national and international calls, with a particular focus on applications to the EU and strategically important applications where the rector or university management is the main applicant. Common tasks include providing qualified support regarding project design, contributing structural and content-related improvements to research applications, and assisting researchers throughout the application process. The work also includes planning and coordinating support based on recurring calls and the university's overall priorities throughout the year. Additionally, the work involves conducting courses and workshops in application writing, informing about and staying updated on current calls, and contributing to the development of the university's overall research support. The work requires contact with research funders and a very good knowledge and interest in the Swedish and European research funding landscape. The group regularly conducts internal training, workshops, and seminars in these areas.

Qualifications

We are looking for a person with relevant academic education, with knowledge of Swedish and excellent English in both spoken and written forms. It is advantageous if you have obtained a doctoral degree in the humanities or social sciences. To be considered for the position, you must have documented experience working in administrative research support, for example, with support for research applications. To succeed in the role, you need to have a good ability to plan, structure, and prioritize your work over time and be development-focused. You should be able to work independently but also in close collaboration with researchers, managers, and colleagues within support functions. Experience in reviewing research applications and the ability to express yourself clearly and academically in writing is advantageous. The role requires excellent social skills, clarity, and pedagogical ability as it involves many internal and external contacts. You need to have a high sense of service and be meticulous, proactive, flexible, and have good collaboration skills. You should have good knowledge of digital tools. Finally, personal suitability will be an important factor in the selection process.

About the workplace

The position is located at the Research and Innovation Office, a unit within the Joint Administration, with about 35 employees organized into four areas: Grants Office, business law, management support, and innovation and utilization. We work closely with university management and faculties and have a broad national and international network.

We are now building up enhanced support for large research initiatives – and you will be an important part of this effort.

The employment is a permanent position, 100%, with placement at the Research and Innovation Office. A probationary period may apply. Start date as soon as possible or by agreement.
