Area of Operations: Rehabilitation and Pain Center
We are Akademiska sjukhuset – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a regional hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer services to two million people in Central Sweden. Something is always happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother is operated on, a colleague is celebrated as a hero. With us, you will experience both tough challenges and fantastic events, in a strong community with colleagues. See parts of our reality in our photo exhibition; akademiskafotoutstallning.se (http://akademiskafotoutstallning.se). Welcome with your application!
Our Operations
Geriatrics, rehabilitation, and the pain center consist of four sections: geriatrics, health professions, pain center, and rehabilitation medicine. All sections are characterized by well-functioning interprofessional collaboration, something we are very proud of. We want you to feel welcome with us. As a newcomer, you will be offered guidance, an introduction program, and a professional network. A significant focus on research and progress, both within and outside the hospital, is part of this. As an employee, you are an important part of this; it is natural for you to want to develop and drive the operations forward.
The pain center section is now offering a position for a newly graduated doctor without a license.
Your Mission
With a simultaneously broad and highly specialized operation within the pain center, we can offer an introduction to pain rehabilitation and pain relief. As a junior doctor, you will participate under supervision in the work at the pain center with gradually increasing difficulty and responsibility under structured guidance from experienced colleagues. Proximity to the university opens up the opportunity for you to participate in research and development. Even though the hospital is large, the distance between our various specialties is never far. Here, you will also have the opportunity to develop through stimulating meetings with colleagues and patients, as well as through supervision of students. Together, we create a challenging and developing workplace where freedom under responsibility is a natural part. Work is scheduled on weekdays, with no on-call duties included.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a newly graduated doctor with an interest in becoming a pain physician in the future. Good basic medical knowledge, willingness to work, and excellent communication and teamwork skills are prerequisites for succeeding in this role. You also need to develop the ability to handle everything from demanding and often acute situations to complicated chronic pain conditions. Naturally, you always put the patient in focus, and you also have an interest in conveying knowledge to your surroundings. If you are also humble and responsible, Akademiska sjukhuset may be the right challenge for you. We place great emphasis on personal qualities, but clinical, academic, and pedagogical experiences are certainly meritorious.
We Offer
We offer a fixed-term full-time position. Located at the pain center. Employment is planned from 2.2.2026 to 31.8.2026, with the possibility of extension.
With us, you will receive benefits that make a difference; read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/jobba-hos-oss/bli-var-nya-kollega/formaner/).
