JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for someone who wants to work as a personal assistant and make a real difference for a person who needs structure, clarity, and security in their daily life.
As a personal assistant, you support a person with a disability in their daily life to enable an independent and meaningful life according to the intentions of LSS (the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons). Working hours vary during the day, evening, night, and weekends according to a schedule.
We are looking for someone with good knowledge of autism and specialized skills that allow you to meet individuals with significant challenges in daily life in a professional and secure manner. Our clients need fixed routines and clear, structured pedagogy to feel predictability and calm in their daily lives. As a personal assistant, you are a central part of creating this security. Therefore, you need to be stable, patient, and have well-developed skills in clear pedagogy and responding to individuals with autism. Your competence contributes to creating an understandable and safe environment where the client can develop and thrive.
The work includes support in daily activities such as personal care, cooking, walks, and maintaining daily routines.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who:
- Has completed the nursing assistant program or the child and leisure program.
- Has good knowledge of LSS, especially personal assistance, and has worked with individuals with autism or similar disabilities for at least 3 years.
- Has experience and has worked based on low-arousal responses and feels secure in their professional role even in the face of challenging behavior.
- Understands how autism affects communication, perception, and social interaction.
- Has knowledge of clear pedagogy and structured working methods.
- Has experience with documentation in care and support.
- Has good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
As a person, you need to:
- Be secure in yourself and have a calm and clear way of communicating with the client and colleagues.
- Have a good ability to follow routines and create structure.
- Have a high degree of empathy, sensitivity, and respect for the individual's integrity.
- Have physical and mental endurance as the work can be both practically and emotionally demanding.
