About the Role

JOAB is in a strong growth phase and continues to develop both operations and working methods.

To further strengthen our purchasing team, we are now looking for a category responsible buyer.

As a category responsible buyer, you have overall responsibility for one or more purchasing categories, such as mechanics or hydraulics. The role is strategic, tactical, and also includes operational elements. You develop supplier relationships, optimize costs, and ensure quality and delivery precision.

You collaborate closely with production, development, finance, as well as suppliers and partners. You drive the development of supplier strategies, purchasing processes, and inventory strategies with the goal of creating business value and delivery reliability.

You are an important link between suppliers, technology development, production, and management, and you enjoy taking initiative, challenging the status quo, and seeing results.

As a category responsible buyer, you will play a key role in enhancing quality and contributing to creating an even more data-driven, sustainable, and business-oriented purchasing function. You will be part of a forward-focused team where your ideas and initiatives make a real difference.

• Development and implementation of supplier strategies that strengthen JOAB's business
• Negotiation of contracts and management of supplier relationships
• Close collaboration with other functions in the company, such as production, design, and quality
• Optimization of inventory and data-driven purchasing analysis
• Ensuring correct data in the business system
• Conducting supplier assessments
• Order placement and delivery monitoring

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has several years of experience in purchasing and a strong drive to take responsibility and develop your area with clear ownership.
• Has post-secondary education in purchasing, finance, logistics, or similar
• Is outgoing and unpretentious, and enjoys collaborating across functions
• Has the desire to help develop the purchasing role within JOAB
• Has good analytical skills and works in a structured manner
• Has experience with Jeeves or another business system
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written

JOAB develops, manufactures, and sells hydraulic superstructures for the automotive industry such as hooklifts, garbage trucks, cranes, etc. JOAB has a turnover of 1.2 billion and employs over 300 people with operations in several locations, including Gothenburg, Dals Rostock, Lessebo, Malmö, Jordbro, Täby, Blomstermåla, Ålem, as well as in Nurmijärvi and Närpes in Finland. JOAB exports about 40% of our sales, mainly to the Nordic countries, but also to Switzerland, Austria, and the Baltic countries.
