Job Responsibilities

We are now looking for new employees to share our everyday life with us at the contact center and at the customized customer service.

You will join a team that has fantastic cohesion, where humor and joy have their obvious place in everyday life, and where a good reception and high service level are at the center. The department is centrally located in Gothenburg in pleasant premises. We offer employee benefits such as wellness grants, cycling benefits, and more.

As an employee with us, you will be an important part of the city's investment in good citizen service, and we offer you a qualified job with many fun challenges and good opportunities to develop in your professional role. Our workplace has operations in development and with a forward-looking attitude, and our employees have broad and varied competencies.

The Gothenburg City contact center is the gateway to information and guidance about the city's services for residents, visitors, and businesses. The contact center manages the city's main number 031-365 00 00 and the city's email [email protected]. We also have customized customer services for, among other things, the city's outdoor environments, preschools and primary schools, parking lots, small boat harbors, streets, and squares. We answer in-depth questions within our specific areas of operation. This may involve guiding how to apply for a preschool place or questions about permits. We also answer questions about regulations and explain decisions that have been made.

We receive inquiries via phone, email, chat, e-services, and apps.

The working hours are scheduled on weekdays without weekends, and you will work varied hours between 06:45 and 18:15.

Your job responsibilities will include:

  • answering questions from residents, visitors, and businesses
  • handling between 50-70 phone calls a day
  • managing many different types of cases each day
  • working in several different operational systems

You will collaborate with and receive support from experienced colleagues in the field, and the work is done both independently and in groups. You will work in various operational systems and databases as well as mapping tools.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • High school diploma.
  • At least three years of experience in similar work from customer service, call center, or other customer service roles via phone, or other experience that the employer assesses as equivalent.
  • The ability to quickly search for and absorb information in operational systems, databases, and on the web, and to interpret and convey it in an easily understandable way.
  • Ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written. We also expect you to have good knowledge of English. Additional language skills are also meritorious.

As Gothenburg is a Finnish administrative area, we welcome applicants with Finnish language skills. It is also an advantage if you have a university degree in political science, public administration, or communication. Previous knowledge of Gothenburg City's operations and organization is also an asset.

As a person, we want you to:

  • Be service-oriented and have a good reception.
  • Have a very good ability to create good relationships with both the public and colleagues.
  • Be communicative, attentive, and flexible, and work solution-focused.
  • Be able to handle difficult situations that require quick action.
  • Be aware of the world around you with an interest in what is happening in society.
  • Enjoy having contact with many people, in a fast-paced environment that is constantly changing.

Of course, you share the department's and the city's approach: We know our mission and who we are here for, we care, we work together, and we think innovatively.

Conditions

We offer 1 permanent position and 3 fixed-term positions until 2026-12-31. Working hours are scheduled on weekdays without weekends and vary between 06:45 - 18:15. Selection and interviews will take place continuously during the application period. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

We kindly but firmly decline calls from sellers of additional job advertisements and recruitment services. We prefer that you register your application via the recruitment system. If you as an applicant have questions about the advertised position or for specific reasons cannot register your information in a public system, please contact one of the contact persons in the ad.
