Occupational Therapist for Kommunrehab in Mariestad

Kommunrehab in Mariestad is a unit within the elderly and care administration consisting of eight occupational therapists, eight physiotherapists, and two rehabilitation assistants.

As one of our skilled occupational therapists is going on parental leave in April, we are now looking for a replacement for a longer temporary position of 1.5 years. There are good opportunities for permanent employment after the end of the temporary position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As an occupational therapist, you will be part of the rehab team and responsible for ADL assessments and subsequent actions for individuals within home care, LSS activities, and social psychiatry.

The work is mainly conducted in the patient's home, in care and nursing homes, and in short-term departments. We work with the prescription and testing of technical aids, activity training, writing certificates, and assisting with applications for housing adaptations. We also work with guidance and training for care staff.

Together with a physiotherapist, you will be responsible for a specific geographical area in the municipality. A large part of the work is carried out through teamwork with other professionals such as rehabilitation assistants, care staff, nurses, assessment officers, and unit managers.

The position entails a longer temporary contract of 1.5 years starting in April or by agreement. There are good opportunities for permanent employment after the temporary position.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be considered for the position, you must be a licensed occupational therapist.

We are looking for someone who is communicative and enjoys collaborating with colleagues and others both internally in the municipality and externally. Other personal qualities we value are responsiveness, engagement, and a good ability to plan and make independent decisions. A B driver's license is a requirement for the position, while previous work experience in healthcare is an advantage.
