The City Service Administration has an important and exciting mission to deliver, coordinate, and develop services for residents and administrations in the city of Mölndal. The administration has about 550 employees and is organized into four operational areas: meals and cleaning, water and recycling, urban maintenance, and support and customer service.

Together with your 140 colleagues in 70 kitchens in the meal unit, we create the best possible meal every day by putting the guest in focus and being attentive in our dialogue with our customers. Our aim is to prepare meals as close to the guest as possible. Therefore, we primarily have production kitchens. We follow the Food Agency's guidelines for Good Meals in Schools/Preschools.

You will be placed in the kitchen at Hallenskolan in western Kållered, which is a school for students in grades F-9. Here, about 450 lunch portions are prepared daily for Hallenskolan's students and educators. Breakfast and snacks are also served to the school's after-school activities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We now welcome a head chef who has a great commitment and curiosity for meals and a genuine interest in delivering good and nutritious food!

In the kitchen, you will work alongside four colleagues, and as the head chef, you are the creative force that leads and takes responsibility for the kitchen's production and set goals.

As the head chef, you have a key role in your team and are the extended arm of the unit manager. Your mission as head chef is to lead the operational work in the kitchen in an inclusive and pedagogical manner. You are visible, present, and active in the operation, both for the workgroup and the dining guests, ensuring a high quality and level of service. Sustainability is part of your mission, and you have an environmentally and climate-adapted working method. The work includes both practical and administrative tasks, including participation in meal councils, recipe, menu, and purchasing planning, as well as self-control, budget and operations follow-up, invoice management, and working in food data programs.

You also have a supportive and supervisory role in nearby schools and preschools together with the unit manager in the geographic area. You participate in the city's head chef group that drives the development of meals together with business developers.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained chef with at least five years of documented work experience.

Alternatively, you are a trained head chef or have documented experience as a head chef that the employer assesses as equivalent. It is an advantage if you have worked as a head chef in both the public and private sectors. You need to have good knowledge of food allergies and be confident in handling special diets.

You handle the Swedish language with ease, both written and spoken. To succeed in your role, you need to have good computer skills and knowledge of the Office suite, as well as experience in communicating via digital forums.

You are a creative and positive person with good collaboration skills and have a solution-focused approach. You create participation and engagement by ensuring that all colleagues experience a positive work climate. They are well-informed about the area's and operation's tasks related to finance, purchasing, and self-control.
