Job Description

As a chef, you will be offered a developing role where you prepare delicious, safe, and healthy meals for our patients at Östra sjukhuset and Kungälvs sjukhus. Together with your colleagues, you will help ensure that the residents of Västra Götaland receive well-functioning care and support. The work as a chef is varied, and you will work with everything from daily planning and preparation of meals and special diets to responsibility for follow-up and self-checks. Your expertise will be an important part of the development work for sustainable meal production.

The work is scheduled during daytime, Monday to Sunday. Since we are a large team, a rotating schedule is applied, which means that start and end times vary depending on the week's schedule.

To contribute to good service in the role of chef, you need to:

• have a strong commitment and interest in food
• be meticulous and responsible
• have a good attitude and work well with others
• be flexible and able to switch between different tasks

We are looking for someone with a completed high school education in restaurant and food or equivalent education. You have worked for a few years as a chef and have experience with personalized meal solutions as well as knowledge of food allergies. You are accustomed to working with conceptual cooking via recipes and have a creative ability to utilize overproduced food/meals.

Furthermore, you can communicate well in Swedish in dialogue with colleagues and customers and follow verbal and written work instructions. You have the physical ability required to walk and stand throughout the workday, lift heavy items, and perform repetitive tasks. Of course, you have current knowledge of food hygiene and understand the importance of performing the work with high quality.

If you have previously worked in a large kitchen with dispatch, allergies, and special diets, it is an advantage.

The position is a fixed-term employment for one year in connection with parental leave, with a desired start in March.
