Job Responsibilities
As a social worker with us, you will work with independent and qualified public authority operations according to the Social Services Act. At the same time, you will be an active part of the development of working methods, routines, and collaboration, both within your own organization and together with external actors.
You will meet individuals with complex needs and are expected to combine legal competence with professional judgment, effective case management, and a holistic view.
The job responsibilities include, among others:
- Public authority operations with a focus on legal security, quality, and efficiency
- Investigation, assessment, and decision-making according to the Social Services Act (SoL)
- Follow-up of decisions and interventions with a focus on appropriateness and quality
- Guidance of care and support placements
- Coordination of transitions to care and support housing
- Collaboration with providers and other internal and external actors
- Actively contribute to the development and improvement of routines, processes, and working methods

Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- Degree in Social Work (210 credits)
- Experience in public authority operations according to the Social Services Act (SoL)
- Experience working with the elderly
- Good knowledge of applicable legislation and practice, as well as experience in documenting and justifying decisions clearly and legally securely
- Ability to cycle
- Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
- Experience using a computer as a working tool and has the willingness and ability to quickly familiarize themselves with new programs and systems
It is advantageous if you have:
- Training in Motivational Interviewing (MI)
- Experience in public authority operations within LSS/Social Psychiatry
- Worked in the LifeCare system
- Experience with complex cases, comorbidity, or coordinated efforts
We are looking for someone who is proactive and self-driven, with the ability to structure and drive their work forward with a focus on goals and results. You are flexible, easily adapt to changing conditions, and see opportunities in development and change. You have good collaboration skills, are attentive and communicative in interactions with others, and contribute to constructive collaborations. At the same time, you have a good overall view and make decisions with consideration for the best interests of the organization.
About the Workplace
The Department for Authority in the Health, Care, and Social Services Administration in Malmö City has about 180 employees and is organized into three units:
- Unit for Ordinary Housing
- Unit for SVU and Short-Term Care
- Unit for Fees, Mediation, and Housing
In the unit, there are also development secretaries who support the entire department's quality and development work.
You will be working within the section for mediation and housing. The section for mediation and housing works with users who have been granted special housing or already live in special housing. The main task of the section is to follow up on decisions for special housing and to mediate placements in special housing, short-term care, and respite care.
