The Chalmers Industriteknik Group is a research and development organization focused on innovation to create a sustainable society. Our experts work closely with research, academia, and industry to turn research into concrete and sustainable solutions for tomorrow's challenges.

Our operations are continuously growing and developing. As our new Accounting Economist, you will become an important part of our continued growth as we strengthen our finance team.

We are looking for someone with a solid foundation in accounting who wants to take the next step in a broader role. With us, you will have the opportunity to deepen your skills, take on greater responsibility, and help develop accounting, reporting, and digital workflows as the business grows. This role is new to strengthen our team, and therefore there are opportunities for you to influence and grow in the role.

About the role

As an Accounting Economist, you will work with accounts receivable, ongoing accounting, and year-end tasks for the parent company, the Chalmers Industriteknik Foundation, and subsidiaries according to the K3 regulations. It is an outward-facing role, and you will have many points of contact and close collaborations with the organization you support with financial, time reporting, and project issues, as well as actively participating in developing routines and processes within the finance function. You will have significant responsibility while being part of a safe and stable team with close collaborations.

Your tasks include

  • Accounts receivable and payable

  • Ongoing accounting and reconciliations

  • Project invoicing and project accounting

  • Participation in monthly and annual financial statements and reporting

  • Control of time reports and travel/expense reporting

  • VAT reporting

  • Payments and liquidity planning

  • Administration

About you

You are a person who sees opportunities, is open to change, and is happy to contribute suggestions. You enjoy working closely with your colleagues and are a true team player. Your curiosity and interest in working with accounting issues and in developing systems and digital processes will be of great benefit in this role.

You are not afraid to roll up your sleeves where needed. We appreciate that you are meticulous, quick to learn, flexible, and structured. Furthermore, you are unpretentious with good communication and collaboration skills.

For the role, it is also required that you can communicate in Swedish and English, both spoken and written, at a very good level.

Qualifications
  • Relevant university and college education with a focus on accounting

  • At least 2-3 years of current experience in similar tasks or from an auditing firm

  • Very good knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel

  • Experience in project-driven operations, consulting, and a good understanding of research or development activities is an advantage

  • Experience in payroll preparation is an advantage but not a requirement

About the employment and application

The position is full-time with a start date as soon as possible by agreement. The placement is at our office in central Gothenburg, and since the role requires you to be close to operations, there is a need for you to be available in the office most of the time.

Application deadline: 2026-02-01. Selection will be ongoing, and we will place great emphasis on personal suitability in the appointment.

We would like you to write a personal letter along with your application (CV).
