Your Mission

As a care assistant with us, you primarily work with care and support in the daily lives of the residents.

Your tasks include assisting with personal hygiene, dressing and undressing, meals, and practical chores such as laundry and cleaning. You also contribute to enabling social activities and community. A central part of your mission is to create security, participation, and good quality of life for each individual.

Your role includes documentation as well as establishing and following up on implementation plans. You work as part of a team in close collaboration with colleagues, unit managers, and nurses to ensure that residents receive their approved services performed in a qualitative and professional manner. Some health and medical tasks are performed according to delegation.

The organization works according to the Individual's Needs in Focus (IBIC), a working method within social services that is based on each person's resources, needs, and goals. IBIC promotes person-centered support for individuals needing assistance in daily life, regardless of age or disability, according to SoL and LSS.

Working hours are scheduled for day, evening, and weekend shifts according to a rolling schedule.

About the Workplace

Hedbacka is a care and nursing home located in the scenic Söderala, just outside Söderhamn. The facility has 49 places distributed across seven departments, five of which are focused on dementia diseases and two on somatic care needs.

Each department has a cozy common room and dining room where residents can eat their meals and socialize in a safe and familiar environment. For larger communal activities, there is also a spacious gathering room where we regularly organize various events and celebrations.

At Hedbacka, we strive to create a meaningful, safe, and joyful everyday life for our residents. Therefore, we offer activities several times a week, such as music sessions, baking, walks, and joint excursions. All activities are adapted based on the residents' individual interests, needs, and circumstances. During the summer months, we like to use our large, lush garden for outdoor activities and social gatherings.

Your Competence

We are looking for someone who is a trained care assistant and has a genuine commitment to working with people, always with the resident in focus. Previous experience in elderly care or with individuals with disabilities is an advantage.

Documentation and reporting are important parts of the job, which means you need to have good computer skills. Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, is also required for the position.

As a person, you are solution-oriented, take initiative, and actively contribute your knowledge and experience to the team. You see it as a given to contribute to a positive and professional work environment. You are attentive, flexible, and have the ability to adapt your working methods based on each individual's needs and circumstances. Furthermore, you have good collaboration skills, communicate clearly, and handle any challenges or conflicts constructively.
