Occupational Therapist at Östersund Hospital

We currently have 30 employees, including seven occupational therapists working with surgical, orthopedic, and pediatric departments, as well as providing hand rehabilitation and outpatient care for children/youth.
The workplace is located in Östersund in beautiful Jämtland, close to mountains and Storsjö. As a newcomer to the county, you will receive assistance in finding housing within walking distance to work.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for an occupational therapist for our unit:
- A permanent position focused on the orthopedic department
You will be placed in the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy unit, working in the orthopedic department alongside several physiotherapists.
As an occupational therapist with us, you will meet patients who have sustained various orthopedic conditions and fractures and be a crucial support in their rehabilitation. You will play an important role in ensuring safe and secure discharges from inpatient care. The work requires you to be flexible and able to prioritize between different tasks as the lengths of stay are relatively short.
Your responsibilities include, among other things:
- Assessment of activity and functional ability post-surgery
- Early ADL training and needs assessment before discharge
- Prescription and fitting of assistive devices
- Planning and coordination of rehabilitation needs with other healthcare providers
- Interprofessional collaboration with physiotherapists, nursing assistants, doctors, nurses, and care planners
