The Social Administration is responsible for individual and family care, elderly care, and care for people with disabilities. We work preventively with support, interventions, and authority exercises for children, youth, families, adults, the elderly, and people with disabilities.

Our mission is to increase individuals' opportunities to live under the best possible living conditions and to empower individuals to live an independent life. We are a social service that is at the forefront of preventive work and in the transition to an even more accessible and knowledge-based social service.

The family center's social workers are part of the Preventive Unit for ages 0-20 within the Social Administration. The unit also includes parent advisors, the group activity Fridlyst, and the municipality's field secretaries. The unit's mission is to detect early and provide support to children and their families. We work preventively, outreach, and collaboratively around children and youth aged 0-20 and their families.

In Huddinge municipality, there are four family centers that are all co-located with open preschools and have a close collaboration with BVC and midwifery clinics. The family center offers expectant parents and parents with children aged 0-6 a meeting place where combined and early support is easily accessible. The operations are conducted in collaboration between social services, BVC, midwifery clinics, and open preschools. The goal of the operations is to promote good health among children and parents by early detection and meeting various needs based on the entire family's life situation. At the family centers in Huddinge municipality, there are ten social workers who have regular joint meetings and external supervision. We are now looking for 1 social worker for the family center in Flemingsberg and 1 social worker for the family center in Vårby Gård.

About the job

The family centers in Flemingsberg and Vårby offer you a creative and development-oriented work environment in close collaboration with other professional categories.

As a social worker at a family center, you will work with preventive social work, which may include information and advice individually and in parent groups, psychosocial support based on the parental role, and individual counseling contacts. Your work will be conducted together with colleagues at the family center, other operations within social services, and our partners.

At our family centers in Flemingsberg and Vårby, we work with the extended home visit program, which involves home visits to families together with BVC. We also have several joint development projects, for example, around language development. There are great opportunities to be involved in developing the operations based on the needs in the area.

About you

We are looking for someone who is a social worker or has an equivalent academic degree. We see that you have experience of qualified work with children and families in open care and/or social services or in investigation/treatment institutions.

We are looking for employees with a good ability to collaborate with other professionals and work with families from different cultural backgrounds. For successful work, you need to be relationship-building, attentive, and have the ability to create trust. You should also be able to plan and structure your work. We also place great importance on you being proactive and motivated to drive activities in the operations.
