Care Assistant at Saxon’s Special Housing
Imagine being part of creating something entirely new - a residence where every day is filled with warmth, care, and quality of life. Now you have the chance! In April, we will open the doors to Saxon’s special housing located in Brickebacken. We welcome care assistants with experience in cognitive impairment who want to contribute to a meaningful everyday life for our residents. We look forward to your application!
About the Position
In April 2026, the newly built Saxon’s special housing will open. It will be one of Örebro municipality's largest residences, accommodating 100–102 residents. There will be ten departments primarily focused on cognitive impairment but also somatic care, with significant collaboration between departments. Of course, not all residents will move in at the same time; this will occur in different phases to create the best possible conditions.
As a care assistant with us, you will become a key person in our residents' daily lives, working in a department focused on cognitive impairment. Here, we will work together based on our shared values that place the individual at the center, where each resident is seen as an active co-creator in their own daily life. Care, support, and assistance are essential parts, and we strive to create an environment where hospitality and good service permeate everything we do. You will work in a team with colleagues who possess different competencies, and together we are responsible for following the guidelines and decisions that accompany the assignment.
Building a new residence is both exciting and developing, and sometimes also challenging. Here, you will be involved from the beginning and influence the operations based on your experiences and commitment. We truly look forward to welcoming you to our new team!
Examples of Job Responsibilities:
- provide service and personal care based on the resident's individual needs and goals
- build trusting relationships with residents and their relatives
- perform medical, rehabilitative, and habilitative tasks as well as medication management based on delegation
- as a contact person, be responsible for the individual care and support process, together with the workgroup and the resident
- document regularly in the organization's documentation system and review existing documentation
- have knowledge of and follow the organization's applicable laws, policies, and procedures
About the Workplace
Saxon’s special housing is currently under construction and is located in a scenic environment between Tallrisvägen and Saxon’s park in Brickebacken. Our residents should feel that they live life on their own terms and that we see opportunities instead of obstacles. We strive to offer stimulating activities that promote participation and community among our residents.
Surrounding the building will be a large garden aimed at creating a pleasant and functional outdoor environment for both residents and staff. Additionally, several services will be housed here; day activities for the elderly, group housing, a restaurant, and facilities for home care and home health care. According to plan, the residence will gradually open starting in April 2026.
The area of care and support is part of the Social Administration. The operations encompass care and support, preventive activities, authority exercise within the area, as well as housing placement and housing adaptation. Within the area of Care and Support, we work to support and help people who need care, support, or assistance in their daily lives.
Here you have the opportunity to develop, be challenged, and gain broad and deep experience while improving the daily life of a fellow human being. Read more about what it is like to work within Örebro municipality and care and support at orebro.se/jobb/socialtarbete!
