Who are we?

Gamla Övägen is a short-term care facility located near Vrinnevisjukhuset with 64 places, including a few respite care spots. Here, you will work alongside care assistants, nurses, and occupational and physiotherapists.

The facility belongs to the Health and Care Office in Norrköping Municipality, and our mission is to provide places for users who, for various reasons after a hospital stay, cannot return to their ordinary accommodation for the time being.

Working with us means significant personal responsibility, varied days, and opportunities for development. Since we have a high pace and occasionally a high patient flow, as well as residents whose general condition changes rapidly, a high level of competence is required from the care assistants working with us.

Your responsibilities

You will be responsible for the residents together with your care assistant colleagues. You will perform care tasks such as hygiene, cleaning, and laundry.

Medication distribution, handling of various types of injections, and advanced medical technology products such as PEG, tracheostomy, etc., are also part of the job.

Our residents can quickly change in their general condition, and you will be responsible for assessing the need for contact with a nurse or other actions.

We have several projects underway, and there is an opportunity to participate in development work in various areas.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is a trained care assistant according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's regulations, preferably with a few years of experience in the field. We would like you to have previously worked in short-term care.

Since we have patients with dementia, we appreciate if you have training or interest in this area.

Palliative care is also part of our operations, so knowledge and/or interest in this area is also an advantage.

As a person, you are responsible, structured, and flexible.

Since we meet many relatives in difficult situations, your good social skills and respectful approach will be beneficial.

You have a good ability to make decisions in your work based on all available information.

You have the desire to develop and continue working for a good working environment together with your colleagues.
