Järfälla Adult Education and Activity Responsibility conducts municipal adult education in both authorized and self-managed forms and works with the municipality's activity responsibility, KAA. The operations are divided into Youth and Adult Guidance, focusing on the application and admission process as well as KAA, and Järfälla Learning Center.

The operations at the Learning Center consist of SFI, courses at basic and upper secondary levels in Swedish as a second language, vocational training in healthcare and nursing, construction, restaurant and food, as well as adapted adult education at basic and upper secondary levels. Here, all kinds of people meet, with different backgrounds and goals for their studies. We are passionate about providing all adults with new opportunities for education and work.

At any given time, about 1,600 students study with us, both full-time and part-time. Our teaching staff consists of about 50 dedicated educators. In addition to these, the school has study administrators, a special educator, and additional study and career counselors.

The school is centrally located in Jakobsberg within walking distance to both commuter trains and buses.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for someone who wants to help shape the future restaurant professionals. As a vocational teacher, you will teach upper secondary vocational education in Restaurant and Food. You will plan, implement, and follow up on the teaching while also working practically with the students in our restaurant and café operations.

This is a fixed-term employment for at least one year, with the possibility of extension. With us, you will be part of an engaged team where collaboration and creativity are at the center.

Job Duties:

• Plan and implement teaching in practical and theoretical components within restaurant, kitchen, and food.
• Guide students in the kitchen and service during lessons and in the school's restaurant and café operations.
• Design lesson plans and course materials that follow the goals of upper secondary vocational education according to the subject plans from the Swedish National Agency for Education.
• Assess and document students' knowledge according to applicable governing documents.
• Ensure hygiene and safety routines in the teaching kitchen.
• Organize and lead the production of lunches, dinners, and café offerings together with students.
• Collaborate with colleagues in the team to develop education and create a holistic experience for the students.
• Support students in language development and vocational language related to the restaurant industry.
• Use digital tools for planning, communication, and documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements

• Trained chef with professional experience from restaurants and kitchens.
• Curious about teaching and contributing to the development of adult education.
• Solution-oriented, structured, and good at collaborating.
• Positive and engaged, spreading energy in the team.

Meritorious

• Experience as a vocational teacher or completed internship.
• Pedagogical education or on the way to becoming a vocational teacher.
• Teaching certification.
• Interested in language development and have good digital competence.
