The research project “Close Relatives” is seeking a postdoctoral researcher!

As a staff member at Marie Cederschiöld University, you play an important role in the university's mission to improve society through education and research. In the role of postdoctoral researcher, you will belong to the Department of Caring Science at Campus Ersta in Södermalm, Stockholm. The department offers undergraduate education for nurses, specialist training, and master's education in palliative care, as well as research on individuals of different ages, mental health issues, palliative care, and care ethics with a focus on life philosophy. Marie Cederschiöld University collaborates with various healthcare providers in Stockholm County with the aim of developing academic competence and potential research projects for the benefit of both parties.

Your Responsibilities

As a postdoctoral researcher, you will be part of a research project that evaluates a web-based intervention for relatives of severely ill individuals cared for at home, using a randomized controlled design. The study context is specialized home healthcare in Stockholm (ASIH).

During your postdoctoral period, you will be involved in analyzing collected data and compiling results for scientific publication.

Qualifications and Assessment Criteria

You have:

• A PhD in Caring Science obtained within the last three years
• A genuine interest in and experience of research and clinical palliative care
• Experience in engaging with relatives of individuals with severe illness
• Analytical and reflective abilities

Furthermore, you have:

• Strong oral and written communication skills in Swedish and English
• Good knowledge of Office 365
• Strong collaboration skills
• Good ability to structure, plan, and independently drive your own work
• Strong ability to write scientific texts with both quantitative and qualitative approaches

Employment Conditions and Application

The position as a postdoctoral researcher is part-time at 50% for one year, starting in spring 2026 by agreement.
