Recreation Coordinator for Adapted Primary and Secondary School

About Us

Årsta Gård's adapted primary school and adapted secondary school have a Waldorf pedagogical focus and are located in southern Stockholm. In the school (combined adapted primary school and adapted secondary school), 17 teachers and about 40 assistants work together with around 70 students. The students primarily study subject areas, although elements of subject teaching occur.

The school is beautifully situated in a large park by Årstaviken. In the large park, we cultivate and also conduct much of the outdoor teaching that is the school's hallmark. The teaching is very practical, as we believe that practical learning increases students' opportunities to further develop their thinking in theoretical teaching. The school day has a clear, structured rhythm, as does the entire school year. Great emphasis is placed on communication, so that students have the opportunity to express themselves and be heard based on their conditions.

About the Position

Working as a recreation coordinator at Årsta Gård's adapted primary school means taking great responsibility for the quality of the operations, as you are largely the spider in the web that makes recreation and short-term supervision work.

As a recreation coordinator, you will communicate daily with the principal, the two other coordinators, guardians, and assistants. Contact with placing municipalities also occurs, although not as frequently.

Your main responsibilities will include

• Developing, planning, and implementing recreation and short-term supervision activities
• Leading the team of recreation planners

In collaboration with the principal, ensuring that the operations comply with laws and regulations for recreation centers and short-term supervision (KTT)

• Motivating and engaging staff to lead recreational activities
• Planning recreational activities both daily and during breaks
• Participating in school activities, covering for breaks

As a person, you have excellent communication and collaboration skills and perceive the work team as a prerequisite for your success and development in your professional role. We believe you have good leadership qualities, are positive, communicative, and stress-resistant, and have the ability to quickly switch between adhering to clear routines and finding new opportunities when routines do not work. The role requires the ability to meet deadlines and deliver on time, maintain a pace in work performance, and make quick decisions - both independently and in dialogue with colleagues and supervisors. You need to have experience with the target group for adapted schools and be able to keep a cool head but a warm heart!

Requirements:

• Teacher education for recreation centers, or several years of experience working in recreation centers
• Leadership experience
• Experience in adapted schools or LSS operations
• Good IT skills
• Fluent Swedish in speech and writing

Working hours 10:00 AM - 4:30 PM (including a 30-minute break, may vary during meetings or other events). 30 hours/week. Vacation and other conditions according to Almega's independent school agreement.

The position is part-time (75%)
