We are looking for someone to work as a personal assistant for a 45-year-old man who will soon be coming home after a long hospital stay. He lives in Täby in his own apartment. The man is a warm and engaged family father who, despite extensive disabilities, wants to be involved in family life and his children's activities.

As an assistant, you will be an important enabler in his daily life. You will support him in all aspects of life – from personal care, hygiene, and meals to transfers and creating a safe, pleasant, and meaningful environment at home. The job also involves occasionally accompanying him to family activities and the children's leisure and sports events.

The assignment includes supervision and support around the clock. He breathes through a tracheostomy tube and uses a ventilator for respiratory support, which means that you will always work with two assistants together. A central part of the job is to ensure that his breathing functions correctly by preventing blockages in the tube, for example, with suction catheters and mucus-dissolving inhalations.

Who are you as an applicant?We are looking for someone who has personal suitability for the assignment. For us, this means that you are responsible, caring, empathetic, and attentive. You are motivated by taking responsibility for another person's well-being and value performing your work with great precision. The chemistry and interaction between you as an assistant and the client are crucial. Therefore, we believe it is particularly important that you enjoy being active in your work as you will accompany the client on his activities.

As an assistant, you are punctual and can keep time, but also flexible when needed – for example, to cover for colleagues' absences. You enjoy taking initiative, both independently and in collaboration with others in the group. You have a natural sense of what it means to work in someone's home and approach the home environment with respect and humility.

Other requirements for the position:You are a non-smoker.

You have fluent Swedish in speech and writing.

As a new employee at Novum, you will receive paid theoretical and practical introduction to the tasks. The introduction and training are provided by hospital staff with specialist competence in tracheostomy, so you gain the right knowledge and security in your role from the start.

About the employmentWe apply the employment form of fixed-term as long as the assignment lasts with an initial hourly employment during the introduction. The extent of the position is approximately 70% (28 hours per week) with the possibility to work extra as needed. You will be offered a fixed hourly wage according to agreement and other compensations according to collective agreements (Fremia-Communal: Personal Assistance).

The working hours are 08-15, 15-22, and 22-08 and may vary based on your schedule. In connection with the employment, we will try to accommodate requests regarding working hours.

About the recruitmentThe selection process is ongoing, and more information about the assignment will be provided at a possible interview. Start date will be agreed upon. For employment at Novum Assistans, you are required to have a BankID and agree to use your BankID in the service.

In this recruitment, we apply a personality test for all applicants. This takes about 15-20 minutes to complete, and you will receive an invitation via your email after you have applied for the position. The tests help us match the right person with the right job.
