Are you an energetic person who speaks Finnish and wants to try life at sea?
We are looking for someone to work in our children's activities during the summer season aboard Silja Symphony. As a play leader, you will be an important part of the team, creating memorable experiences for our youngest guests. You will participate in planning and executing activities and events, supervise play in the playroom, and contribute to a safe and fun environment on board.
We are looking for both employees who want to work with a fixed summer schedule, where you work about 8–10 days on board followed by an equal length of paid leave, and employees who want to work more flexibly, as substitutes/extra as needed. As a substitute, you will instead make yourself available in our personnel system based on your preferences and availability to then be booked for shifts based on the needs of the operation.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has excellent knowledge of Swedish and Finnish as well as good knowledge of English.
- Is an energetic, cheerful, and outgoing person.
- Is handy (crafts, tricks, and puzzles) and comfortable on stage.
- Has good service sense and teamwork skills.
An ongoing or completed education as a preschool teacher, childcare worker, and/or in theater or music, as well as singing and music skills, is an advantage. For us, it is important that you value and want to work based on our guiding principles: joy, engagement, collaboration, and professionalism.
Whether you have worked at sea before or not, we offer a chance to grow and develop together with us. The first step on your journey will be a four-day onboarding to familiarize yourself with the work environment, the ship, and the team.
Once you start working on board, you will be part of the safety organization. Therefore, it is important that you have good physical fitness as well as good knowledge of Swedish, which is the safety language on board, and good knowledge of English. To work on board, you also need citizenship in an EU/EES country, a valid medical certificate for seafarers, and a passport. Background checks are conducted as part of the recruitment process, and alcohol and drug tests may occur according to our safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment on board.
Do you want to be our new colleague?
We warmly welcome your application today!
We offer extra and seasonal work during 2026, which can also lead to long-term substitutes. Selection, interviews, and onboarding periods take place continuously during the spring. Salary according to collective agreement.
