We are now looking for a brilliant and driven social worker (or equivalent) with at least 2 years of experience working with men's violence against women.
As an acute service dealing with difficult issues, we are seeking just the right person for our wonderful team. We hope it is you!
As a counselor in the sheltered accommodation, you are an important resource for the victims of violence we provide protection to. You maintain the overall picture, are clear in your role, and provide help for self-help through both conversation support and practical assistance, as well as support in contact with others.
ABOUT US
Agera Kvinnojour is a non-profit organization that conducts a professional operation. The association was founded in 2014 and belongs to the national organization Unizon. We work for a society free from violence. Currently, the women's shelter has 14 employees and about 35 volunteers associated with the operation. With us, women and children are the focus, and we work based on respect for the equal value of all people. Our sheltered accommodation has space for 10 women with accompanying children. We also offer support conversations to individuals seeking support through our conversation reception. With us, there is good cohesion, a lot of laughter, and colleagues who help each other.
ABOUT YOU
We are looking for someone who is a social worker, is confident in themselves, has good planning and initiative skills, and has a personal drive to get things done. You are attentive and easily adaptable to different people and situations. You can prioritize your work, be flexible, and are not easily stressed. You take personal responsibility for your tasks. You have good collaboration skills as well as the ability to work independently. You have solid knowledge and experience working with violence in close relationships, particularly focused on women. It is an advantage if you have experience from women's shelters, sheltered accommodation, or social services. Experience working with children who have been victims of violence is also highly meritorious.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Practical tasks may occur, but your regular job responsibilities will mainly include:
- Receiving admissions to the sheltered accommodation and being responsible for case management including documentation.
- Conducting structured threat and risk assessments.
- Conducting ongoing written safety planning for your clients.
- Contacting and participating in meetings with social services, police, prosecutors, and other authorities.
- Providing crisis support to women in the sheltered accommodation.
- Providing conversation support and advice to women.
- Providing practical support to residents.
- Contributing to operational development and method development based on the organization's goals and purpose.
- Performing regular office tasks.
- Being responsible for the follow-up of your area of responsibility and your tasks.
- Contributing to a good living environment for the victims of violence.
- Contributing to a good working environment for you and your colleagues.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A social work degree or equivalent education is required for the position.
- At least 2 years of experience working with violence in close relationships.
- You should have experience in support conversations with adults.
- You should have good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written.
- You should have very good computer skills and documentation experience.
MERITORIOUS
- Experience working in women's shelters, social services, or other social activities.
- Documented experience in support conversations and trauma knowledge.
- Experience working with children, stair training.
- Language skills beyond Swedish.

ABOUT THE EMPLOYMENT
This position is a one-year temporary position, with the possibility of permanent employment absolutely. The working hours are mainly daytime Monday - Friday. One evening per week is required. The workplace has readiness for residents around the clock. The accommodation is staffed from 8 AM to 8 PM, every day. Friday evenings and weekends are staffed by special weekend personnel.
