Animal Keeper at Nyckelviken

As an animal keeper at Nyckelviken, you will be a central part of an engaged team that cares for, develops, and continues to run our popular exhibition farm. Here, you will have the opportunity to combine practical outdoor work with animal husbandry, nature conservation, and interactions with visitors – all in an environment where history meets the future.

Your Mission

Nyckelviken is a manor with a long history and a soul that bears the marks of generations. In the role of animal keeper, your mission is to carry on the tradition and contribute to keeping our exhibition farm a living place – where history meets the future.

You will handle all tasks in the nature reserves and continue to manage the cultural landscape through animal grazing to preserve the open landscape. Your work includes animal husbandry, park, road, and nature management as well as cleaning. You are also a communicative ambassador for the farm and meet our many visitors, both young and old, on a daily basis.

Together with colleagues, you will create activities and events such as Walpurgis Night and Midsummer celebrations, and you will serve as the assistant operations manager for the activities at the stable, where you, along with the operations manager, develop the management of the farm. Occasionally, physically demanding work is involved. Winter readiness is also included.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in animals, nature, and agriculture – and who thrives in an environment where each day presents new tasks. You are versatile, solution-oriented, and not afraid to roll up your sleeves where needed.

You have:

• Experience working with animals and nature, including knowledge of animals, nature, and agriculture
• Diverse experience in agriculture with a focus on traditional handling of animals and land
• Carpentry skills are an advantage, as there are repairs to animal barns, windbreaks, and pastures
• Experience operating and handling machinery such as tractors and loaders, as we manage agriculture and winter road maintenance in-house.
• Training in chainsaw or brushcutter is an advantage

We also believe that you are collaborative, responsible, practically inclined, and creative with the ability to turn ideas into action.
