We are an acute care department with 18 beds providing highly specialized care with southern Sweden as our catchment area. Patients suffering from strokes are cared for in the acute phase.
The department has a special admission unit, stroke-observation, where we care for the acutely ill stroke patient. Thrombectomy and intravenous thrombolysis treatment are part of our daily routine, which requires intensive monitoring and care. In addition to acute stroke care, the department is specialized in the investigation and treatment of a number of other neurodiagnoses such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Myasthenia Gravis, and Guillain-Barré syndrome. We are located at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) in Lund in newly built facilities with only single rooms for patients, where there are ceiling lifts and modern equipment in each room.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are now looking forward to welcoming a new nursing assistant colleague to us at Neurology Department 25 in Lund!
In the role of nursing assistant with us, you will be responsible, together with the team, for patients with neurological diseases. You will perform common nursing assistant tasks within somatic care and emergency care. Additionally, you will be part of a large team where we all work according to a set standard while also taking a person-centered and holistic perspective.
As a new employee, you will receive personal introduction with shadowing based on your specific skills and an overview of the routines in our department.
QUALIFICATIONS
We welcome you who are a trained nursing assistant with a focus on emergency care or healthcare according to the previous program structure, alternatively, you are a trained nursing assistant within the new program structure who has studied all specializations. You have good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written. It is an advantage if you have work experience in somatic care, emergency care, or neurological care.

OTHER
As of July 1, 2023, the title nursing assistant became a protected professional title. This means that you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant within healthcare and social services. If you currently have a permanent position as a nursing assistant and are offered a new position, you can retain your title as a nursing assistant until June 30, 2033. At any interview/employment, you will need to present proof of the protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare or a certificate that you were permanently employed on July 1, 2023. If you do not currently have a professional certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare or are covered by the transitional provisions, it means that the title in your employment contract will be care assistant and not nursing assistant.
