We are now looking for a strategic buyer for our client in the defense industry in Linköping.

As a consultant in this role, you will be a key person in one of Sweden's most technology-intensive industrial projects. You will work in an international environment with complex business dealings where long-term thinking, structure, and business acumen are crucial.

In the role of strategic buyer, you will be responsible for driving and developing commercial arrangements with suppliers – from strategy and contracts to follow-up and supplier development. You will closely collaborate with colleagues in production, development, marketing, and after-sales to ensure that purchasing solutions support both business goals and technical requirements.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing purchasing strategies within defined areas

• Negotiating commercial terms and drafting supplier agreements

• Leading and coordinating supplier teams in collaboration with other functions

• Establishing and further developing relationships with both new and existing suppliers

• Monitoring and analyzing supplier performance related to cost, lead time, quality, and delivery capability

• Driving initiatives and improvement work with structure and determination

• A degree in economics or another relevant discipline

• At least 3–7 years of experience in business-driven roles within strategic purchasing, procurement, or project management

• Strong negotiation skills in complex and international environments

• Good communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

• Preferred: Experience from the defense, aerospace, or manufacturing industry

• Preferred: Experience working in larger organizations with cross-functional collaboration
