Business Manager with Unit Responsibility Rättvik Municipality

Rättvik Municipality is now strengthening its work in business development and is looking for an experienced and confident Business Manager who wants to lead and build our new Business Unit. This is a strategically important role where you will be a central force in developing the municipality's relationships with entrepreneurs, driving business issues, and creating good conditions for a growing and sustainable local economy. The assignment suits you who want to engage long-term in a local community and who sees the value of building trust, presence, and collaboration over time.

About the Assignment

A new Business Unit is now being established in Rättvik Municipality. As Business Manager, you are responsible for building, shaping, and leading the unit. You have full personnel responsibility and are also responsible for developing both working methods and goals for the group's operations. The assignment includes both internal and external collaboration. You actively drive business issues within the municipality to ensure that the needs of businesses are recognized in decision-making processes, while also being a visible and accessible party for the local business community. The role requires the ability to work commercially, collaboratively, and with a high level of service. The role assumes that you enjoy being visible in the local community, meeting entrepreneurs, associations, and other actors where they operate, and actively contributing to Rättvik's development as a place to live and work.

Your Main Responsibilities

  • Lead, organize, and develop the municipality's new business unit with full responsibility for operations, finances, budget, as well as personnel and work environment.
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with entrepreneurs, associations, organizations, and other external actors.
  • Be the municipality's active voice in business and entrepreneur issues, both internally and externally.
  • Identify needs, drive development initiatives, and be a change agent in the municipality's work with business development.
  • Ensure good collaboration between business, municipal operations, and political leadership.
  • Promote a good service culture and contribute to solution-oriented working methods.
  • Follow up results, ensure goal fulfillment, and drive improvement work.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is a confident, calm, and clear leader with very good collaboration skills. You are relationship-building, communicative, and easily create trust in your interactions with others. The role requires that you are a strategist who gets things done and finds smart solutions to the needs of the business community in combination with applicable regulations and laws. Furthermore, you are proactive and accustomed to turning ideas into practical implementation. You have a genuine interest in place development and understand the importance of a vibrant local community where business, the municipality, and civil society collaborate. You have:

  • Post-secondary education, preferably in business, economics, community building, or equivalent.
  • Experience in running a business or in business management.
  • Good understanding of both the private and public sectors – and preferably experience from both.
  • Strong development ability and curiosity about how business issues can be advanced.
  • High social skills, business acumen, and confidence in conducting dialogues at various levels.
  • Ability to work result-oriented, analyze needs, and solve problems in a structured way.
  • Ability to be direct, open, and clear in your communication.
  • A commitment to the local business community and a desire to contribute to the municipality's long-term development.
