Unit Manager for Information Management and Procurement

As the unit manager for the unit of information management and procurement, you have the opportunity not only to lead a wonderful team of employees but also to guide the university towards its set goals. The unit is at an exciting stage where development is in focus, and you will have a significant opportunity to influence the operations moving forward in this area.
The Unit for Information Management and Procurement
The Department of Management Support and Finance consists of three units: the unit for information management and procurement, the unit for finance and accounting, and the unit for planning and analysis. Within the unit for information management and procurement, expertise is gathered in registration, archives, information security, data protection, university law, business development, purchasing and procurement, system management, and responsibility for administrative research support, including the Data Access Unit (DAU). The unit focuses on further strengthening its processes and developing operations, where appropriate working methods should support the entire university's activities. The tasks within the unit have a clear anchoring in the authority perspective within the higher education institution.
Your Workday as a Unit Manager
In this role, you are responsible for developing a robust and operational support that creates value throughout the organization. You lead the work to develop working methods and processes in your unit and ensure that they are effective and sustainable. The tasks are varied, from supporting and leading employees towards common goals to operationally managing limited issues within the unit's area of responsibility. You have workplace safety responsibility for the unit and work to create a safe and inclusive workplace where everyone contributes to the set goals. The role also involves close collaboration with the university's institutions and other departments within the shared operational support, where you become an important part of building a culture of collaboration and development.
The unit currently consists of 13 employees. You report to the head of the Department of Management Support and Finance and are part of the department's management group. As a manager at Dalarna University, you will have the opportunity for development through our management development program.
Are You the Person We Are Looking For?
Requirements:
In the appointment, we emphasize personal suitability, and we want you to have a strong interest in leadership and development. You have the ability to think strategically and are proactive, driving things from a holistic perspective; you make things happen and can make necessary decisions within your area of responsibility. You identify, manage, and independently carry out your work while collaborating with, leading, and motivating the employees in the unit towards the goal with good leadership skills.
You also need to have:
- a bachelor's degree in a field that the employer deems relevant
- experience working in one of the unit's areas of responsibility
- experience leading development work of processes and/or working methods
- at least one year of experience as a manager, and the managerial responsibility must have occurred within the last three years
- very good proficiency in Swedish, spoken and written
- good proficiency in English, spoken and written
Desirable for the Position:
- experience working in one of the unit's areas of responsibility at a higher education institution
Employment
The position is a permanent employment, with a start date as soon as agreed. Full-time position (100%). A probationary period may apply. Dalarna University is a higher education institution that operates in two locations. The placement for this position is Falun, and some work may also occur in Borlänge. There is an option to sign a remote work agreement.
