Your Responsibilities
As a unit manager within the Catering and Cleaning Services department, you have a broad and responsible assignment. You lead the cleaning unit with a focus on the municipality's values and create a positive working environment where structure and clarity are central. You are responsible for personnel, working environment, quality, economy, and results within your area.
You work strategically to develop the operations and ensure that resources are used efficiently in line with the municipality's economic goals. By developing and implementing action plans and strategies, you contribute to achieving the municipality's overall goals and visions.
You follow up and evaluate the unit's results, initiate improvement projects, and ensure that the operations comply with laws, regulations, and municipal guidelines. The role also involves representing the cleaning unit internally and externally, collaborating with the department head, other unit managers, and external actors, as well as handling feedback and complaints in a professional manner.
Examples of Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the cleaning unit's budget and resource management
- Develop and implement strategies and action plans
- Participate in the municipality's crisis preparedness work
- Together with colleagues, be responsible for specific focus areas
Your Profile
For the role, we are looking for someone who has:
- Relevant higher education or other education or experience that the employer deems equivalent
- Cleaning services education is an advantage
- Several years of documented leadership experience, preferably within cleaning services
- Good knowledge of data and Swedish (spoken and written)
- Knowledge of relevant legislation
- Experience in budget work, financial follow-up, change management, and development work

In addition to the managerial competencies, you need to have a strategic approach and the ability to see the whole. You plan long-term and adapt your decisions to develop the operations in line with the municipality's goals. As a leader, you motivate and create participation, which is crucial for building a positive working environment and driving improvement work. Your communication skills enable you to handle dialogue and conflicts constructively, which is important in a role with many contact surfaces – both internally and externally.
About the Workplace
The department is part of the Sector of Operational Support and has approximately 140 employees within the departments: Administration, Finance and Payroll, HR, IT, Communication, Security and Preparedness, Catering & Cleaning Services, and Customer Service. The sector's mission is to create the best conditions for other sectors in the municipality to focus on their core activities.
Within the catering and cleaning department, you will be part of a management group with the department head, unit managers, and administrative coordinators. Within the cleaning unit, you will lead together with another unit manager assigned areas with team leaders, cleaners, and service hosts.
The cleaning unit works to provide professional service and expertise in the field.
