Description
We are an outpatient care facility in customized premises and are looking for innovative individuals who want to develop new working methods together with us and patients with chronic illnesses.
The Academic Specialist Center (ASC) is a unit within Region Stockholm for patients with MS, Parkinson's, diabetes, rheumatic diseases, and a center for obesity. Additionally, there is a unit for clinical trials in outpatient care: The Study Unit of the Academic Specialist Center. Within ASC, research, education, development, and innovation are integrated into daily care operations. Our mission includes developing new working methods, innovative use of medical technology and e-health solutions, high patient involvement, and collaboration with various healthcare providers, patient associations, and the business community. We strive to create a person-centered care environment together with the patients who turn to us.
Responsibilities
We are looking for someone who is driven and wants to develop care for patients with chronic illnesses together with other staff members. Improved and standardized journal documentation is very important for patients to receive more information in their journals online. Medical secretaries at the Academic Specialist Center play a crucial role in this development work. The work also includes journal writing, coding, referral management, and phone duties. Other administrative tasks such as invoicing may also occur.
You will primarily work at the Academic Specialist Center within the Neurology Center.
Qualifications
Medical secretary training/healthcare administration training. At least two years of experience working as a medical secretary. Interest and experience in education, development, and innovation are meritorious. Experience with chronic illness is valuable. We also prefer that you have previous experience working in administrative systems such as Heroma, Raindance, and Clockwork.
You have a positive attitude towards work, patients, and colleagues. You are organized and meticulous, with the ability to work in a structured manner - planning, organizing, and completing tasks on time. You can work both independently and in a team and easily adapt to new circumstances. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.
The position is filled on the condition that it is not needed for internal relocation, according to current regulations.
For patient-facing work within the Stockholm County Healthcare Area:
- Background checks are applied before hiring decisions according to SLSO's overarching guidelines for background checks during employment.
- Employees who will have patient contact must undergo a pre-employment health examination, according to current directives, which is conducted through occupational health services before employment.
- In addition to Swedish professional certification, good knowledge of the Swedish language at level C1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is required. The same requirements are guiding for non-licensed personnel with patient contact.
