We are now looking for a support assistant for the Danska vägen service residence. The Danska vägen service residence is an LSS residence for young adult women and men with mild intellectual disabilities. The accommodation is divided into 7 apartments in a multi-family house with a common area. The staff group consists of 6 support assistants and one support pedagogue. In this position, you will, when needed, work at nearby facilities.

As a support assistant with us, you will be part of a team of dedicated support assistants and a support pedagogue, whose common mission is to contribute to a meaningful everyday life for the individuals living with us. In your role, you will maintain the daily structure of the residence and provide both pedagogical and practical support in daily life, perform social documentation, and personal care. An important part of the role as a support assistant is also to stimulate the individual to a meaningful leisure time and support in maintaining social contacts.

We work to create conditions for the individual to achieve their goals and support participation, integrity, and self-determination. The assignment includes participating in the establishment and follow-up of implementation plans to ensure quality in services related to needs and wishes. You will also be a support in contact with authorities, relatives, home care, daily activities, and other partners. Furthermore, you will regularly participate in workplace meetings, method meetings, and supervision with external psychotherapists.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a degree from the Care and Nursing program, support assistant training, or the Child and Leisure program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. Alternatively, 60 university credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for people with disabilities. The education should have relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care.

You need to have passed Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1. Those who do not meet the qualification requirements may be offered to take a language test through the test user Educateit. You must be able to read, write, and express yourself fluently both orally and in writing in Swedish as communication and documentation are central parts of quality work.

You have previously worked with individuals who have intellectual/neuropsychiatric disabilities, preferably for at least two years. If you also have knowledge or experience working with methods such as MI (motivational interviewing), ESL (independent living), Low Arousal Approach, and AAC (alternative and augmentative communication), it is an advantage.

It is important that you are accommodating, have a positive attitude, and are calm and secure in your professional role. If you work in a structured manner, have good collaboration skills, and can take your own initiative within the framework of the assignment, it is highly valued. It is essential that you can express yourself well in speech and writing and have basic computer skills as documentation is a significant part of the work. A B driver's license is desirable for the position.
