JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a regional lawyer, you have a central role where you work closely with elected representatives and management. You will work on both region-wide assignments and more specific operational issues.

The Coordination Office is responsible for document and case management, security, preparedness, and the environment. In the Secretariat unit, specialists work to support elected representatives, management, and other employees in some of the region's most central areas. The unit includes the region's consolidated meeting administration, central registration, archives, regional lawyers, environmental strategists, and environmental administrators.

As a regional lawyer, you will be offered a qualified and developing job with great variation. Through your advisory role, you are expected to provide support in a wide range of legal issues. Your main tasks include:

  • Supporting and following up that the organization meets the requirements of public administration,
  • Legal expertise within the region's operations,
  • Providing support in the establishment of regulations, delegation orders, and other internal governing documents
  • Processing cases received in the whistleblower system,
  • Following legal developments and taking the necessary initiatives to keep the region updated,
  • Identifying needs for competence development,
  • Planning and conducting training,
  • Participating in agreed political body meetings.

Central legal areas for Region Jämtland Härjedalen's operations include transparency and confidentiality, municipal law, administrative law, health and medical care law, public procurement, contract law, total defense law, corporate law, and other relevant legal areas. In the Secretariat, the legal assignments are divided between two lawyers, but within the organization, there is also a lawyer specialized in procurement.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a Jur.kand / law degree and extensive professional experience in qualified legal work. We want you to have good knowledge of public administration and experience in legal work in a politically governed organization or other relevant private sector.

In addition to good legal knowledge and the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new legal areas, there are high demands on being attentive to the various needs within the region's operations and having good judgment. You are expected to work collaboratively with others and communicate in a trustworthy manner in various contexts. You also take responsibility for working independently and are proactive. We are also looking for investigative competence where you have the ability to work analytically and structured. You need to have very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written, as well as knowledge of English. As a person, you are solution-oriented, analytical, and communicative.
