We are currently seeking a specialist physician in cardiology to work at the Thorax-Vascular Clinic.

Our Offer

The Thorax-Vascular Clinic at Linköping University Hospital is one of the highly specialized units in thoracic surgery in Sweden. The clinic is part of the heart center, and the operations include vascular surgery, thoracic surgery, thoracic anesthesia, and intensive care for advanced heart failure. Research and education are important tasks. Since 2017, we have been a university hospital unit (USV-clinic). Our patients mainly come from the Southeast healthcare region, where we have a comprehensive mission for specialized care. For a long time, we have been working in a process-oriented manner in close collaboration with cardiology, clinical physiology, and radiology, as well as the Selding unit, which gathers eight laboratories for catheter-based procedures.

The clinic has about 275 employees. More than 900 vascular surgical procedures are performed each year. Additionally, we conduct approximately 600 heart surgeries, 200 catheter-based valve interventions, and 300 lung surgeries.

Job Description

We are now looking for a specialist in cardiology with an interest in patients within vascular and thoracic surgery. Your placement will be based in our vascular surgery section. The position includes work on our wards connected to the clinic c 116 and c 126. In addition, we have our own intermediate care THUVA and intensive care THIVA. Our surgeries take place at thoracic surgery and the Selding unit.

We are looking for someone who wants to help develop our vascular and thoracic surgical unit from a cardiological perspective. The position involves a focus on ward work with our operated patients, but also an opportunity to develop work within outpatient care and intervention.

About You

You are a specialist physician in cardiology, preferably with experience in preventive and secondary prophylaxis in cardiovascular healthcare. You are interested in developing and driving the work with commitment. As a USV unit, we see research and development as a natural part of our operations and encourage employees to participate in this work.

As a person, you are stable, flexible, have good judgment, and possess strong collaboration skills. You are curious and continuously maintain your specialist knowledge. You contribute positively to the work environment at the clinic and are a knowledge resource for others.
