The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care, SiS, is in an intense and exciting development phase with great interest in our operations and ongoing political investigations that open opportunities to strengthen and modernize the authority's mission. We are now looking for a communicator who wants to contribute to strengthening and highlighting SiS's care and treatment mission through knowledge-based communication. You will be part of an engaged and competent team, close to management and operations, where you will have the opportunity to develop and make a difference every day.

Job Description

As a communicator with us, you will switch between analysis, planning, advising, and production. In the role, you will support the research and development department by making research, development projects, and treatment content accessible to both our internal and external target groups. You will alternate between analysis, planning, advising, and production and have a central role in creating coherence, context, and clarity in how SiS's development work is communicated.

In the role, you will, among other things:

  • Be responsible for communication planning related to research, development projects, and care and treatment work, from early analyses and messaging work to publishing and disseminating results and knowledge bases.
  • Translate complex care, treatment, and research information into clear and accessible content for internal and external target groups via the external website, intranet, events, and meetings.
  • Ensure quality in knowledge communication, including plain language and tone.
  • Collaborate with researchers, operational representatives, communicators, and strategists to identify relevant knowledge and create a coherent and effective knowledge transfer within and outside the authority.
  • Contribute to developing SiS's communication and working methods, as well as participate in follow-up, analysis, and continuous improvements of communication efforts and channels.

The position is located in the section for strategic communication planning, one of two sections in the communication department, and you will report to the section manager. You will work closely with colleagues in the communication department and with employees and managers in other departments throughout the authority to create coherence, consensus, and effective communication.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A university degree in communication, journalism, or another relevant education that SiS considers equivalent.
  • Some years of experience communicating complex issues related to research, development, care, treatment, or other knowledge-intensive activities.
  • Experience in driving and project-managing communication efforts, from analysis and planning to production and follow-up.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish, with the ability to formulate clear and target group-adapted messages in various channels and to write in plain language.

It is advantageous if you also have:

  • Experience in communication within the public sector, especially authorities or community-related activities.
  • Experience supporting experts, researchers, and managers in communication assignments.
  • Good knowledge of CMS, publishing tools, and industry standards for digital communication.
  • Experience in crisis communication.

To succeed in the role, you need to have very good analytical skills, be skilled at explaining complex information in a pedagogical way, and have an easy time understanding new subject areas. You work in a structured manner, prioritize well, and drive your work forward with perseverance. You find it easy to collaborate and build trusting relationships while being comfortable working independently. Personal qualities are highly valued.

At SiS, we care about good employee engagement. This means that you, as an employee, take responsibility for your work, contribute to development, and participate in good collaboration. Read more about our employee engagement.
