We currently offer an exciting position at the Ministry of Finance for assessors. We are looking for several legal advisors for the Financial Markets Department!

The Financial Markets Department is seeking legal advisors for the Securities Market Unit and the Banking Unit. Together with economists and other lawyers, you will participate in EU negotiations regarding new legal acts and develop legislation in the area. The work is sometimes conducted at a high pace. The job includes contacts with the political leadership of the Ministry of Finance, other departments and ministries, the parliament, authorities such as the Financial Supervisory Authority and the National Debt Office, and various industry organizations.
The Financial Markets Department at the Ministry of Finance is responsible for providing the basis for the government's financial market policy. The department works to improve the functioning of the financial market so that businesses and individuals can access sought-after services under favorable conditions, while maintaining financial stability and upholding high consumer protection.
The Securities Market Unit and the Banking Unit are two of four units in the department and are responsible for analysis and development of policy and legislation in their respective areas. The Securities Market Unit's responsibilities include stock exchanges and securities companies, trading in financial instruments, investment funds, and market abuse.
The Banking Unit's responsibilities cover banks, the payment market, and combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism. The legislation that the units are responsible for is focused on corporate and association law and is largely governed by EU law. The department's work is characterized by extensive regulation, rapid technological development in the field, and the EU's regulatory agenda.
Current issues in the Securities Market Unit include legislation regarding investment funds, consumer protection rules in savings, supervision, and developing capital markets within the EU. Current issues in the Banking Unit concern legislation on payments, combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism, as well as capital adequacy and crisis management rules for banks.

Your Background
You are a court of appeal or administrative court assessor. You have broad legal expertise and a strong ability to conduct in-depth legal analyses. We expect you to be proficient in both Swedish and English as working languages, both orally and in writing. Good knowledge of EU law is an advantage. It is also beneficial if you have experience working within the Government Offices, at relevant authorities, or from the financial market.

Other
We offer several fixed-term positions as legal advisors with a six-year appointment, with the possibility of extension. The employment begins with a six-month probationary period. Start date by agreement. A security clearance will be conducted before a decision on employment is made.
