MVT is the largest news media in Motala and Vadstena. With us, you will have the opportunity to help spread knowledge, information, and investigate socially important issues that our readers will benefit from. At the smaller local newspaper, you will get close to the stories that matter to readers while also being able to provide in-depth coverage and offer multiple perspectives.

We are looking for someone with a strong commitment, an interest in local journalism, and a passion for telling stories that impact people's everyday lives. You are curious, flexible, can immerse yourself in new issues, and actively work to ensure that your texts capture the readers' interest. You are skilled at making contacts, have your own ideas, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Here, you will work broadly as a news journalist in Motala and Vadstena, two fantastic summer cities where we cover everything from concerts and the Vätternrundan cycling event to election preparations and business news. We are also looking for reporters with sports expertise who are ready to cover everything from speedway to football.

Your main tasks will include generating ideas, writing articles, taking photos, live reporting, filming, and editing video content for our website and social media. We work with a digital focus and clear goals, always keeping the readers at the center, so we would like you to be adept at packaging your own material.

We offer you an independent role where you have great freedom to bring your own ideas. At the same time, you will work with engaged, skilled, and helpful colleagues who can teach you a lot. We are looking for someone who:

• Has or is studying journalism or equivalent, or has equivalent work experience.
• Has a commitment to journalism and a desire to convey news that helps the audience in their daily lives.
• Thrives in a event-driven environment where tasks may need to be prioritized based on the news situation.
• Is curious, enjoys meeting new people, and is willing to learn new things.
• Has a good sense of language, can understand angles, and convey straightforward news in text.
• Has basic knowledge of photography and filming (with mobile and/or DSLR camera).
• Has knowledge of journalism such as interview techniques, research, information gathering, source criticism, and news packaging.

Info about the position: The temporary positions may involve working hours during the day, evenings, and weekends. A driving license is required as driving is part of the job.
