About the organization

We are looking for someone who wants to be part of our continued development! As a controller at Sahlgrenska University Hospital (SU), you will encounter a rewarding and developing role in a large organization with an exciting and significant operation.

Area 4 is one of Sahlgrenska University Hospital's seven areas, with over 2,800 employees and a budget of approximately three billion SEK. The area consists of the operations of Clinical Physiology, Clinical Genetics and Genomics, Clinical Immunology and Transfusion Medicine, Clinical Chemistry, Clinical Microbiology, Clinical Pathology, Pharmaceuticals, Medical Technology and Physics, and Radiology. Area 4 is a broad, research-intensive, and eventful area.

As a controller, you will be employed in the finance department, which, together with the HR unit and development unit, forms the area staff under an area manager. In the finance department, we are a team of seven controllers and one strategist working together on financial matters. The finance department is located at Röda Stråket at Sahlgrenska University Hospital.

Job Responsibilities

As a controller, you will work closely with one or more operational areas. Your work will primarily consist of financial planning, monitoring, analysis, cost calculation, and development work. The role involves close collaboration with the operational managers and other staff functions, and you will be part of the management team of the operational area. You will support the operation in both operational and area-wide issues. As a controller, you may also have primary responsibility for a common financial process.

The work is varied and takes place both independently with a lot of personal responsibility and together with colleagues in the team. You may also work on hospital-wide issues and be part of various networks and working groups within the hospital.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university degree in economics and preferably a few years of experience in the financial field. You have excellent skills in Excel and experience working with financial systems. If you also have experience working with large data sets and in public sector operations, it is a merit.

You are a self-driven, analytical, and service-oriented person with a strong interest in analysis and development work. To succeed in this role, we see that you have good social skills and the ability to collaborate, and that you can convey financial information in a pedagogical manner. The role requires that you enjoy change and development.

As a person, you are analytical, take initiative, and are used to collaborating with different professions. You enjoy working both independently and in a team and have the ability to plan your work. To succeed in this role, we see that you have good social skills and the ability to collaborate, as well as the ability to convey financial results in an easily understandable way.
