Support Assistant for Daily Activities and Employment
Are you a secure, stable, and committed person who is passionate about helping others and creating meaningful job opportunities? Then this might be the right position for you!
We are all different. We are also all alike and have the same right to meaningful employment, to be stimulated, to develop, and to feel valuable. Daily activities and employment is a unit within the area of support for people with disabilities, and we are now looking for someone who wants to help develop the work in the unit with us on a temporary basis.
The unit has sixteen employees and is responsible for seven different focuses and groups. One of our groups is focused on Employment SoL, and the other six work with Daily Activities LSS. The focuses in the various operations vary from small group contexts to individual placements, and the support needs of the users are often complex. In each group, there are one to four employees. In total, we are responsible for just over forty users within the Employment SoL initiative and eighty users within Daily Activities LSS. Within our units, we work to utilize the users' own resources and promote participation in society by adopting a habilitative, pedagogical, and low-arousal approach.
We work with a person-centered approach and have a lot of collaboration with others in our users' networks. Based on the users' needs, we work systematically to develop the operations and make adjustments considering the individual's conditions. We collaborate between the three units in daily activities and help each other when needed, which allows you to enjoy varied work.
We are now looking for a support assistant who wants to be part of our team within daily activities and employment!
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
You will work in our employment activities. We work both with group activities and individual company placements. Our focus is to contribute to a meaningful everyday life and participation in society through group activities and individual support, and we work to increase independence by creating tailored implementation plans. Some activities are conducted through group activities, while others take place in more individual contexts.
We are a team of four staff members who together are responsible for our approximately 45 users. As a support assistant, you play an important role in supporting our participants in their work and activities to promote their well-being and independence.
Your responsibilities as a support assistant include, among other things:
- planning and organizing tasks and activities based on individual needs and abilities.
- providing clear instructions and support to ensure that tasks are performed safely and effectively.
- adapting tasks and activities to promote the participants' individual development and interests.
- promoting a positive and inclusive work environment by encouraging collaboration and social interaction with people we meet in everyday life (employees within the organization, customers, and other participants).
- feeling secure in creating networks and maintaining contacts with partners, contributing to joint meetings and collaborations.
- employer contacts and support in internships in the regular labor market in connection with individual placements.
- documenting participants' progress and achievements, as well as maintaining accurate reporting and documentation.
- collaborating with parties in the users' networks.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who has:
- a relevant education for the role, such as a nursing assistant or childcare worker with a focus on psychiatry/special education.
- experience working with individuals within LSS, such as autism, NPF diagnoses, or intellectual disabilities.
- experience working with individuals who have mental health issues and/or psychiatric diagnoses.
- experience providing support to individuals in employment activities or daily activities.
- good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.
- good experience working with IT/digital tools as support in the work since we document, collaborate, and plan in computer-based support systems.
- a B driver's license.
We consider it an advantage if you have:
- training in methods for motivational and self-empowering conversations and approaches, such as MI or equivalent knowledge to motivate and support individuals towards the regular labor market.
- training on workplace support for individuals in vulnerable situations, for example, IPS or other training that the employer assesses as equivalent.
- experience working with individuals with substance abuse issues.
- experience working with employer contacts based on labor market initiatives or daily activities and employment.
Your personal qualities are crucial for how you will succeed in your role, and we will place great emphasis on personal suitability. You enjoy working with people and have a pedagogical approach. You start from the individual and are used to turning and twisting your own perspectives to work together with the participant towards set goals. You need to be able to carry the participant when required but also be able to set demands and challenge when appropriate.
You guide, inspire, and motivate. You are unpretentious and generous with yourself. You appreciate working together in a smaller group but can also work individually and enjoy solitary work. Much of your work involves having a sense of intuition, and you must be able to work flexibly, both physically and mentally. Your positive, responsible, and solution-oriented approach makes you a valued collaborator both internally and externally, for example, in relation to employer contacts and other parties.
Upon employment, we require a presentation of an extract from the police criminal record.
