We are Uppsala University Hospital – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a regional hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we offer healthcare to two million people in Central Sweden. There is always something happening here – a new life is born, a grandmother is operated on, a colleague is hailed as a hero. With us, you will experience both tough challenges and fantastic events, in a strong community with colleagues. Our Operations
The Urology department is a surgical unit, specialized in urology. We investigate and treat patients with diseases of the kidneys, ureters, bladder, prostate, urethra, penis, and testicles. Patients come from our healthcare region, but in many cases, we also receive patients from other parts of Sweden and even abroad.
At our urology clinic, nurses, contact nurses, nursing assistants, urotherapists, research nurses, coordinators, and doctors work together.
Your Mission
Assisting doctors and nurses during various examinations, such as cystoscopies, biopsy sampling, and ultrasound (TRUL), constitutes a large part of the work, as well as changing catheters, wound care, and monitoring urination. We also have a nursing assistant clinic where nursing assistants work more independently with tasks such as RIK/RID training and telephone follow-up.
Your Qualifications
You are a trained nursing assistant with several years of experience in healthcare. Experience in urological care is an advantage. Knowledge of the Swedish language at least at level C1 is required. You should be communicative and service-oriented, as well as meticulous, structured, and solution-oriented.
As a person, you have good collaboration skills while also enjoying working independently. With a positive outlook on life, a strong sense of responsibility, and good work motivation, you perform your tasks in a professional manner. The high patient flow at our facility places great demands on your flexibility, stress resilience, and well-developed prioritization skills. You are an engaged and positive colleague who actively contributes to a pleasant and sustainable work environment. We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.
We Offer
We offer you a stimulating job where there are great opportunities for development as a nursing assistant, regardless of previous experience. With us, you will receive personalized onboarding.
The position is a permanent, full-time employment.
Monday to Friday daytime. Start date by agreement.
