Our Operations

Since 2019, Region Uppsala has been conducting pharmaceutical preparation in-house at Uppsala University Hospital. The work takes place at the Central Preparation Unit (CBE) and the Radiopharmaceutical Preparation Unit (RBE), both located at entrances 100/101, in new cleanroom facilities specifically built for this purpose. At CBE, we prepare cytostatics and other aseptic drugs for the hospital's departments. At RBE, radiopharmaceuticals are prepared for the Department of Nuclear Medicine.

The pharmaceutical preparation unit is part of the hospital pharmacy function Pharmaceuticals and Pharmacy at Uppsala University Hospital. Within Pharmaceuticals and Pharmacy, there is significant pharmaceutical expertise distributed across the various operations within the department, such as clinical pharmacy, departmental pharmacy, drug supply, clinical trials, quality review, etc.

Currently, about 20 employees (pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and assistants) work in the Pharmaceutical Preparation Unit to provide extemporaneous preparations to our patients. We now have the opportunity to offer a temporary position and are looking for someone with a strong interest in drug manufacturing who wants to develop with us.

Your Mission

The main tasks include extemporaneous manufacturing, including order preparation and final control of cytostatics and other aseptic preparations. Manufacturing at CBE takes place in a B-classified area in a safety cabinet in accordance with current regulations (GMP).

With us, you will work in a close-knit team characterized by good collaboration, high competence, flexibility, and responsibility, with the patient's best interest in focus. We are a natural part of the hospital and have close contact with ordering departments and other pharmacists within our organization.

Your Qualifications

Licensed pharmacy technician with preparation competence or licensed pharmacist. Experience in extemporaneous manufacturing and good knowledge of GMP is an advantage.

We want you to be responsible, flexible, and engaged, and to contribute to the development of the operation. You are solution-oriented and have the patient in focus. You find it easy to collaborate with the workgroup as well as with ordering departments, and you contribute positive energy to the group. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

We Offer

Temporary position with start as soon as possible or by agreement until 2026-12-31. Full-time 40 hours/week.
