Test Engineer for Unmanned Aerial Systems
We are looking for a test engineer who wants to help drive our work with unmanned aerial systems forward. With us, you will have the opportunity to use your skills where they truly make a difference. Together with an experienced team, you will create solutions that leave an impact – both today and in the future.
About the Position
As a test engineer, you will plan, conduct, and report tests. The test assignments will be within unmanned aerial systems. You will lead the test team for the assignment in close collaboration with colleagues at FMV such as test pilots, chief test engineers, designers, and collaborate with the Armed Forces and industry.
You will be responsible for planning the testing activities, developing test programs, and leading the execution. The execution of the testing activities includes, among other things, ordering resources, briefing and debriefing test pilots, and analyzing data. You are also responsible for reporting on the testing activities, post-analysis of data, and compiling the test results through the preparation of test reports. In this role, you are expected to fly the unmanned aerial vehicles during the testing process. Additionally, you will support FMV project management in concept and requirement specification work for test objects and reviews.
The work is largely goal-oriented, emphasizing the importance of understanding the whole and being able to take personal responsibility for achieving results. Therefore, it is important that you enjoy collaborating in a team to solve tasks.
The work involves conducting tests in locations that may be in uninhabited terrain. This entails regular movements on foot outdoors, sometimes in hilly environments and under varying weather conditions.
The position is located in Linköping. The role will include business travel both domestically and internationally.
About You
We are looking for someone who is educated as a civil engineer or military engineer with a relevant technical focus or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way that we consider equivalent. You have experience working in the technical area of unmanned aerial systems (UAS). To succeed in this role, it is essential that you can express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish and English. A basic requirement is that you have a B driver's license.
We would like you to have experience flying unmanned aerial vehicles, conducting testing activities, and working in project form. If you also have experience leading others in work contexts, we see that as a positive. We appreciate if you have knowledge of operational use and analysis of functions of unmanned aerial systems.
Personal qualities are of great importance to us. We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds and experiences and are looking for someone who enjoys collaborating with others, is attentive, and solves problems constructively. We also see that you are self-driven and have the ability to plan and organize your work. You have good problem-solving analytical skills and can break down problems into their components.
