Do you want meaningful work that makes a difference in people's lives?

Welcome to the municipality that is far from average!

Botkyrka Municipality is the sixth largest municipality in Stockholm County and consists of the districts Alby, Fittja, Hallunda, Norsborg, Tullinge, Tumba, Vårsta, and Grödinge. Botkyrka Municipality has approximately 95,000 inhabitants and over 6,400 employees.

The Department of Health and Care is responsible for providing care, support, and assistance to the elderly and people with disabilities, as well as support to their relatives. Our goal is to focus on the citizen and provide good conditions for an independent, stimulating, and safe living situation - around the clock. We are 2,500 employees who, in our various roles, provide support and care to citizens in need.

The position and tasks

We are looking for two case officers on a one-year temporary contract for the Authority SoL for those aged 65 and over.

As a case officer at the Authority SoL for those aged 65 and over, you will work with cases concerning citizens aged 65 and over in Botkyrka. You play an important role in assessing needs and ensuring that individuals receive the right support. The work is based on IBIC (Individual's Needs in Focus) and involves exercising authority in close collaboration with citizens, relatives, colleagues, and external actors.

You will receive applications verbally, in writing, or digitally. As a case officer, you do not need to start from a specific intervention; instead, together with the individual, you will find out what needs exist and how they can best be met. This may involve, for example, home care, safety alarms, day activities, housing (care and nursing homes, service houses), or respite care (relief in the home, short-term placements, alternating care). The work also involves home visits to create a clear picture of the citizen's needs and circumstances.

Your main tasks include:

  • assessing needs, making decisions about interventions according to current legislation
  • conducting home visits and engaging in dialogue with citizens and relatives
  • documenting and processing cases in the operational system Lifecare
  • following up on decided interventions together with the citizen and relevant providers.

In cases of more complex needs, you are responsible for coordinated care and support as well as establishing a coordinated individual plan (SIP) in collaboration with the region and other actors, such as healthcare, care, and habilitation.

Through your work, you contribute to ensuring that citizens aged 65 and over in Botkyrka receive the right support and conditions for safety, participation, and quality of life.

We offer you

At the Authority SoL for those aged 65 and over, you will become part of a dedicated team of case officers who work closely with management and administrative support. Here, you will have the opportunity to develop by handling a range of cases, from simpler applications to more complex investigations that require collaboration with other actors. The work provides you with experience in home visits, follow-ups, and coordination, deepening your competence in exercising authority and social work.

Botkyrka Municipality is in an exciting phase of development where preventive care and support measures are being strengthened to meet future needs. As a case officer, you will be part of this development and have the opportunity to build knowledge in new working methods and forms of collaboration. We offer good opportunities for further growth in your professional role and to take the next step in your career within the municipality's broad social services.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another academic degree in sociology, law, or behavioral sciences.

Other requirements:

  • Completed and approved course in social law.
  • Experience in interpreting laws and regulations.
  • Experience in documenting clearly and accurately in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

We consider it an advantage if you have:

  • Experience in exercising authority.
  • Experience working according to the individual's needs in focus (IBIC).
  • Experience with the operational system Lifecare.
  • Driving license B.

As a case officer, you need to be structured, as you often handle multiple investigations simultaneously and must document clearly in the operational system. The role also requires you to be analytical in order to interpret legislation, weigh different options, and make decisions that are legally sound and tailored to the individual's needs. Since the work involves close contact with citizens, relatives, and other actors, it is important that you are collaborative and can build trusting relationships. When circumstances change or needs are complex, being solution-oriented is a strength, allowing you to work together with the individual and providers to find effective interventions that provide safety and support in everyday life.

Welcome with your application!
