Pharmacists Wanted for the Newly Established Pharmaceutical Warehouse/Hospital Pharmacy in Västra Götaland Region

Area of Warehouse and Distribution

The Warehouse and Distribution area, currently with 180 employees, is responsible for ensuring a robust and cohesive inventory management and distribution of consumables and medicines as part of the management's mission for the Västra Götaland Region and its residents. The area also has overall responsibility for the management's external transports. The area is under construction and is facing a development journey both in terms of personnel and organization. We work to develop a process-oriented approach to best support our partners throughout the entire production and ultimately through the entire supply chain.

About the Pharmaceutical Warehouse

At the new pharmaceutical warehouse (Department of Pharmaceuticals), we will be 25-30 employees who will together operate a region-wide warehouse and distribution for medicines to the region's hospitals. The operation involves warehouse activities, but also customer service and ordering/restocking of inventory and assortment. The operation will be conducted with readiness 24/7. The department will work closely with the area's other departments for warehousing, material administration, and transport, and will be part of the regional Hospital Pharmacy in VGR.

Hospital Pharmacy in VGR

The Hospital Pharmacy in VGR is responsible for the region's statutory hospital pharmacy and medicine supply to hospitals and other healthcare facilities in the Västra Götaland Region. The Hospital Pharmacy in VGR consists of a region-wide unit with coordination responsibility and local hospital pharmacies at each hospital.

Your Main Responsibilities as a Pharmacist:

• Participate operationally in order management and license management
• Staff customer service
• Pick, complete, pack, and conduct pharmaceutical control of medicines
• Warehouse and assortment work
• Other work in the warehouse including standby duty on evenings/weekends

Specialization in various areas, e.g., assortment work, logistics/warehouse, or special medicines will be relevant and assigned based on previous experience and interest. Your placement is in Gothenburg at the new pharmaceutical warehouse, and you will participate in the establishment of the warehouse and its processes in preparation for operational start in the fall of 2026.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed pharmacist (licensed pharmacist or licensed dispenser) and have professional experience as a pharmacist in a pharmacy (community pharmacy or hospital pharmacy).

You have a holistic perspective and a process-oriented mindset and will work to ensure that the pharmaceutical warehouse becomes an integrated part of healthcare with equal conditions throughout the region. You see development opportunities in processes and are passionate about improvement work. You are open and clear and good at collaborating and building trusting relationships. As this is a newly started operation, we are keen to build a cohesive team that makes the best use of each other's experiences and competencies.
