We are looking for you who are a school nurse and interested in working for and with students in the adapted primary and secondary school.

Job Description

As a school nurse in Upplands-Bro, you belong to the central student health team (Resource Unit), which consists of school nurses, school doctors, school and preschool psychologists, a central special educator, and is led by a unit manager.

You will be connected to two schools in the municipality. One of the schools is the municipality's adapted primary and secondary school. Other central assignments within the medical services of student health may also be included in the role.

You are part of the school's student health team, led by the school's principal. You primarily work in health promotion and prevention, conduct health visits and vaccinations, and contribute the medical perspective to the school's student health work at the individual, group, and organizational level. In the student health team, you collaborate with the principal, counselor, special educator, and other professional competencies to create good conditions for students' learning, health, and development.

The work is based on the National Board of Health and Welfare's and the Swedish National Agency for Education's guidelines for student health, our management system, and methodology book.

We have a strong focus on patient safety and quality work within the Resource Unit.

As a school nurse, you will work with, among other things:

• Health visits, health conversations, and vaccinations according to current guidelines
• Active participation in the school's health promotion and preventive work
• Support for individual students based on medical needs
• Development of the medical services of student health together with other school nurses and the school doctor

As a new school nurse, you will receive a mentor, an experienced colleague who supports you in your work and in your introduction to the municipality. You will also become part of our professional and helpful school nurse group, where experience exchange, joint competence development with the school doctor, and support are a natural part of everyday life.

We are looking for you who:

• Are a licensed nurse
• Have specialist training focused on children and youth, district nurse, and/or school nurse.
• Enjoy working in a team and want to contribute to a safe and inclusive school environment.
• Have good digital skills and experience in documentation.

It is an advantage if you have:

• Experience working as a school nurse
• Experience and interest in working with students in the adapted school
• Training in audiometry and experience with back checks
• Familiarity with the journal system Prorenata

About the unit

The central student health team in Upplands-Bro is part of the Resource Unit, led by a unit manager, and works to ensure that all children and young people receive the support they need and are entitled to. The unit consists of school psychologists, school nurses, school doctors, and special educators. Together we work towards the municipality's nine primary schools, secondary school, adapted primary school, and adapted secondary school.

About the position

We are looking for a new colleague (100%) for our school nurse group. Start date is according to agreement, preferably in March 2026. A probationary period may be applied.
