Your Role

The role is part of the Aeronautics business area, which develops and delivers advanced aircraft systems and solutions for both civil and military aviation of world-class.

Equipment in Saab's flying vehicles is subjected to tough stresses from the surrounding environment. The work within environmental durability technology aims to ensure and optimize the product's survival and functionality in this demanding environment. The technology area spans mechanical, thermal, and climatic environments, which includes issues of vibrations, shocks, temperatures, pressures, humidity, acoustics, and more. The design of the environmental description is closely linked to the design and operational use of our vehicles, providing a unique opportunity for a holistic view and overall understanding of our systems and subsystems.

As an engineer in mechanical environment, you will work with investigations and questions focusing on:

• Prediction of vibration environment and analysis of vibration data in the final product
• Application and development of methods and tools to improve prediction models and analyses
• Use of advanced simulation techniques, data-driven analysis, and machine learning to foresee and optimize vibration behavior in products

The work spans the entire product development cycle and involves many interfaces with other technology areas such as flight testing, strength, hull, installation, air systems, auxiliary power systems, propulsion, aerodynamics, and operations analysis, providing an opportunity to build a comprehensive network.

The job content often requires extensive experience and expertise in environmental durability. You will receive continuous training through courses and knowledge transfer from experienced colleagues. The team you are part of has many years of experience and expertise in environmental durability and vibration analysis, offering both technical breadth and depth as well as opportunities for varied tasks and personal development.

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a Master of Science or a technical doctor, preferably in mechanical engineering, engineering physics, or aerospace engineering, with at least 5 years of work experience
• Has a suitable focus in space/aerospace engineering, mechanics/structural dynamics, or acoustics
• Has experience in FE or environmental durability work, sound and vibration analysis, modal analysis, data analysis, requirements management, and environmental durability standards (meritorious)
• Is open, respectful, and collaborative, willing to share knowledge and support colleagues
• Actively participates in discussions, thrives in an inclusive environment, and contributes to a good work climate
• Has a genuine interest in technology, problem-solving, and a holistic view
• Communicates well in various interfaces and is proficient in English, both spoken and written

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may entail requirements for certain citizenship.
